At Gen Con Indy in '05, one of the players in a tournament I ran showed me an Erol Otus booklet of magic items, including technological ones like the Slaver disintegration rifle from Niven's Known Space, many with illustrations. It had a stapled binding, soft covers (blue or gray I think), similar in size & construction to the OD&D LBB's, and was insanely awesome. At the time I didn't think to note down any details about this beautiful artifact. Any info would be much appreciated!

You thinking of Booty and the Beasts?

Erol Otus was part of a small company called Fantasy Art Enterprises that had a few releases in the late 70s. The other items are also listed on the Tome here:

It could also be something for Arduin, perhaps?

Sounds like B&tB but I'd have to go see if a Slaver rifle appears in there or not....

I'd rather think of B&tB as the 3rd easiest FAE item to find.

So which would be the hardest?
This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

I agree Mars: Geomorphic Mini Dungeon Modules and Magical & Technological Items Cards are much more difficult to find, much less win.

I would say that by hardest to find it would be:
1) Magical & Technological Items Cards are the hardest to find - I have only seen 2 copies of these.
2) Geomorphic Mini Dungeon Modules - I have seen 3 of them and one by Hamilcar so I suspect more will come out.
3) Beauty & the Beasts
4) Necromican
I would also guess that for every copy of B&tB, I have seen 2 or 3 Necromicans. At one point I had 5 Necromican's in my possession but have only have 1 B&tB.

Funny that. I bought Magical & Technologial Items Cards from KNG for $35.
It's the only FAE item I've ever been able to get. I think I sold my copy to you, at the same time as Swords?

No, I didn't get that copy. I bought mine from someone on Ebay from Australia last year - it was relatively cheap too.
I've been the runner up on Geormorphic Mini Dungeons twice with bids up around $190.

I gotta say I really love the Geomorphic Mini Dungeon Tiles. They are great. Better than anything TSR produced, and cunningly copied and expanded upon by Goodman Games. They are one of my few treasured items. Haven't seen BB or N, but suspect I'd not be too fussed about them.

Yes, Booty & the Beasts is it - I forgot it had monsters too! Thanks, everyone. Those other FAE items are cool too - I will dream of finding them at cover price in some moldering game store that mysteriously won't be there the next day.
