$29.95 closer to public usps rate for 20 pound box not single book
checked for you to see uk rates :) :) nkg only had yggsburgh no uw yet + quote was $12.95/$18.14
paizo quote was $12.46 shipping for uw + 10% off list = $7.97 if reduce for that
where is $29.95 normal aside from tlg where say would have to pay fixed rate which indicate more to me and same if buy 2??
TLG wrote:I apologize for the inconvenience, but unless folks in Europe and Asia are willing to pay a flat rate that will probably be more than they would normally be charged there is nothing we can do.

only advantages quick well quicker + know have copy secure. but is still ouch imo to charge $29.95 shipping

Flat rate is $37, so $30 is probabaly exact weight, not a bad deal actually.

unless sending volume really low can use isal rates would be $13.35 for 3 pounds to uk = close to actual quote from paizo + nkg. nkg explicitly offer isal as above
see section 293 of usps book :) :)
'probably be more than they would normally be charged there is nothing we can do' did not read as sending at cost to me anyhow ^^

CZ:UW is a boxed set. Needs to be shipped in a rigid box, not a prepaid envelope. I had three shipped in a $45 prepaid box.

ADDENDUM

I would say these should have been shrinkwrapped. Makes for a much tidier package IMO. One of mine arrived with a slightly torn box (2 corners). The weight of the contents obviously strained the seams of what is a fairly thin card box, and tore the corner seams in transit (See my current eBay listing for same). Shrinkwrapping would have really helped prevent this sort of damage in shipping.

Anyways, only one damaged so I'm not complaining. Let's hope these go on to be a collectable of the future (because let's face it, Mongoose are gonna butcher it!).

First impressions of the cartography are pretty spectacular. I'm not over enamoured with the colour mapwork, but the black and white is spectacular, and the detail is fantastic. The artwork is of an equally high standard, both the internal illustations and the cover art. All in all a first impression that makes you feel like you bought something really worth reading. Now to find out how much egg is really in there.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

It's the international shipping that's the killer. A UK reseller may make a bit of a difference, but I still doubt they'll be able to sell them at under £35 and make a proffit. And this isn't going to anyone's loss leader either. So there isn't going to be too many of those getting into the UK which bodes well for the future IMO.

And if NKG did sell their stock that fast, maybe we are looking at the next RAR here. One wonders if TLG are going to continue publishing ad infinitum or whether they will cease in the near future. That's the gamble for the prospective investor in this as a collectable.

Oh how I wish I'd bought ten copies of RAR when I had the chance.

My understanding is that all TLG Gygax titles stop being sold by them and are pulped as of 12/31/08.

If I can help out anyone with shipping this item overseas, please let me know and I'll be happy to oblige.

Here's another auction but it looks like US shipping only.

There is a very easy way to get a copy of Upper Works...

The Castles and Crusades Society Contest!

You need to be a registered member, however.

8O  Can anyone confirm this? That must mean the print run remains small. Any luck getting your hands on any more, Allan?

Just a quick update on availability and international shipping of the Upper Works boxed set...

FRPGames.com has several Upper Works boxed sets in stock for $35.95 and will ship overseas.  I confirmed both availability and international shipping with a quick email to their customer service.  Of course, the shipping cost will depend on quantity ordered and destination.

http://www.frpgames.com/new/cart.php?m= ... il&p=45665

Also, RPGShop.com is now listing the item on their website for $39.95.  According to the site, international shipping is available.  (This site is updated less frequently so it is probably a good idea to call to confirm stock before ordering.)

Enjoy :)

One more seller on Ebay has the boxed set for $34.39 with worldwide shipping.  Three (3) of the sets are currently available:

Enjoy :)

Update:  Wow... These guys are going fast.... None left. :(

Any idea if these are going to make it into distribution or not?  I'm just wondering if I should get my FLGS to get one in or if I should buy direct from TLG and pay the shipping.

When I talked to Steve @ TLG in early November, it sounded like they might get 200-300 copies into domestic US distribution and per Steve's blog post @ http://trolldens.blogspot.com/2008/11/w ... bells.html sounds like that happened.
