I have copies from August from GenCon, and copies direct from TLG in November/December with the fixed maps.

The content of the MoM 'brown' map appears on the storeroom level BW map, so the 'additional' MoM map is superfluous. And this would not be a good indicator of GenCon copies for the obvious reasons.

I'll put together an A/B scan of the impacted versions of the MoM/SR map level, which will help to ID the original/bad crop maps from the mostly-fixed ones.

SoulCatcher78 wrote:The color map included with the set is of the surrounding area but (to the best of my knowledge, I'll double check when I get home tonight) is only 1 sided.

Sorry to stir the debate up but I wanted to make sure that I wasn't making an error in stating that the boxed set was complete.

My GenCon copy includes the color, duplex regional map, with DM and Player's versions on both sides.  If that has been split into two color maps in the later boxed sets, that's great.

My later copies are in a box in the attic, so I'll have to dig around for them this weekend.  Ian:  why don't you email me to remind me, please? :D

Will do, Allan. I'll try this weekend.
My copies all have four maps.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

The area map is double sided...not sure why I thought it wasn't but that's the old age creepin' up on me I suppose.  All is well in map land once again!

Just wanted to say that it seems I was wrong about the shrinkwrapping. It appears I may have misunderstood a statement and was then led to believe TLG does not shrinkwrap; it does now seem that the wrapping was done for the distributors, by TLG. Copies sold to individuals were not shrinkwrapped.

Sorry for the confusion, but I was very sure I knew what was happening. :(

Was the Gencon version sold unshrinked them to be signed?  Is there any other distinction between them?

I am just wondering if it was a different print or if it was the one print run and just a bunch of the were brought to Gencon and signed by Gary?

Mark:  the signed versions are signed and numbered (to 200 or 300, I don't recall which, offhand).  My understanding is that they're otherwise identical to the non-signed copies.

Do you know if the GenCon version was shrinkwrapped?

I picked up a set of districts/adventures from a retail store and East Mark was the only one in shrink (which makes sense considering the format).

Also, any idea of which print of Dark Chateau is rarer (or size of print run?) - grey or brown?

I have both a signed and unsigned version of the East Mark Gazetteer.  My signed version has four map sheets and the unsigned has five map sheets.  The difference is that the Player Map and Castle Keeper's map is a double sided map in the signed version and two single sided maps in the unsigned version.

I have no idea about print runs on things (there are a few exceptions) -- I can guess, but that wouldn't really be too terribly precise. However, I believe the grey Dark Chateau was first -- it was supposed to match the Yggsburgh hardcover.

Overseas eBayer corcorellis has won my copy of CZ:UW for $202.47.

Also-ran bidders include melroseandvine and gruggreyskin.  I suppose that I should know who they are, but I do not.  I won't out anybody else.

Acaeum members did bid, but most of them dropped out early. Over 30 people were watching the auction in the hours before auction's end.  Only 12 unique bidders bid on this auction.

Neither the charity aspect nor the Free RPG Day module appear to have affected the final price.
