That's why I bought 3 sets so I could open one, keep one in shrink, and resell one later (covering all bases).  I was a bit disappointed that they weren't shrinked.

I ordered one directly from the Trolls, and it was not shrinkwrapped.

Those that are/were sold through brick-and-mortar retail stores appear to have been shrinkwrapped, which makes sense.

The ones sold at GenCon weren't shrinkwrapped either.

Mine came without shrinkwrap direct from TLG. The other one came from a UK online distributor. It wasn't in shrink either, but it did have an expanded cardboard lattice placed on top of the books which stopped the lid from deforming when the box was in the post. I have left the additional packing in place, gently wrapped it in cling film (seran wrap) to preven scuffing, and packed them away for storage.

As with RAR, I think it's the ones with perfect boxes that will command the high prices. I suspect some of the DCC boxes sets have a similar problem, although I haven't heard of many arriving damaged right off the bat. Probbably on account of the shrinkwrapping. That must be one fairly cheap piece of equipment that could improve the whole customer experience with TLG, expecially if you're gonna cut corners on quality.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

At DunDraCon last year, I saw a bunch of damaged Castle Whiterock box sets on sale as "damaged goods" due to box mistreatment.

My boxes have held up well, although they were packed well by TLG (and my first two were bought at GC by our DM, and he took good care of them thankfully :D ).

Both my Castle Whiterock and Gazeteer have the typical dented in lids that seem to be a symptom of DCC's production process.

Amazon had no copies of CZ:UW for sale, so I put one up.  I channelled the spirit of Troll and Toad when entering a price.  I do not expect it to sell at that price, though I will be happy if it does.

Also, Amazon's ASIN number is incorrect, but I am not going to fight Amazon.

Yes, it is.  :)  I suppose I could increase it by a factor of 10 and not decrease the likelihood of selling it.

I hope that other sellers do what I do when I see an insane price --- I think to myself, "I can sell my copy of XXX for cheaper than that loony."

Noble Knight Games have a NM copy up for $100. A bit steep, but in six months time you won't find any at that price.

Is there a link to his first installment anywhere?

From the comments on the main page.

.....Joseph said...
The current download has both levels in it (including the updated level 2), so there's no need to download the changes separately.
The idea is to keep adding on to the file every time a new level is added....

Just for the record.....

A copy of Upper Works did sell on Amazon for $199.99 (congrats, Johngaunt). There is a copy up now for $299.99 which might be stretching it......or maybe not.  Talk about instant collectible this might be impossible to find for under $100 at this point.
