We have no way of seeing the numbers but I would be willing to bet that parcels from sellers that overcharge on shipping go missing more often :lol:

I have a problem with high handling fees and I hope Ebay does too. I recently won 21 auctions (most at 99 cents). In the final tally of $25 for the books, the actual shipping in Canada is $15 but the seller was asking $50 only after having it reduced from something crazy like $130 or $150.

Needless to say I did not pay and the seller filed NPB on me so I am going through the hassle of dealing with it on Ebay. The seller still feels completely justified and thinks I should be happy they reduced the handling fee from $130 down to $35. I don't know if my feedback will stay on their account or get removed but you can enjoy the sea of red while it is there:

I absolutely hate that. If a seller wants to make a certain amount they need to charge it and not try to scam it with high shipping. I had the same thing happen with a guy selling Judges Guild stuff. He says he will combine shipping then wants to add $1.75 per module, making it $35 to ship 20 of the thinner JG modules. He finally settled for the cost of a large flat rate box but he went on my list.

I wish ebay had a blocked sellers list so you could easily avoid bidding on something from one of these sellers.

EBay in the UK have a policy that says that you are not permitted to proffit unduly from shipping and packaging charges, nor are you permitted to load shipping charges as a means of avoiding paying eBay's fees. The seller front end loaded the shipping fees, which I did not notice unlit I placed my bid. Unfortunately, as I was in the last 12 hours, eBay would not permit me to retract my bid. I asked the seller to correct his error in shipping costs and highlighted that they were not in line with eBay policy, and I filed a seller non-performance complaint with eBay. Turns out the seller wanted me to pay for her/him to take a taxi from their house to the post office, wait for her, and then catch a taxi back, and that the shipping was to be a not unreasonable 10 euros.

eBay's telephone support tell me not to complete. Their backroom boys send me an e-mail threatening repocussions if I do not, and the upshot was I get to leave negative FB, and eBay send me a £20 voucher for having been such an arse about the whole thing.

So you can win. You just need to follow eBay's policy and advice, and even if they get it wrong they'll say sorry with vouchers.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

It is why I always asked for how much will be combine shipping for multiple items. Even if I loose some interesting items because the seller didn't answer. I have this problem one times with TonyaGames (hum...) and she wanted to charge 110$ handling fees... Never again.

The best think is to always buy to an Acaeum member isn't it?
