condition looks fabulous on these - I've bought fanzines that didn't look this good when I got them new!

(no international bidders though - boo)

This one is still fresh in my memory..  Let me point out a few things..

This is a lot of very recent and very old traveller stuff. The old stuff is in pefect shape and look exactly as I have described in the old post .. look at the light blue covers of the between worlds and the alien star..

Also the origional issues of Allien star look loike this... http://www.travellerbibliography.org/alienstar/2.html not like the one in the post...

Brette:)

(5 years and 1 day... long memory...)

auction pic http://members.cox.net/darkcolony99/auc ... oks_AS.jpg
do you have #6-8 in large format??

small format same as sold by dachsylady original as $3 reduced to 75 cents. were sold to us back in day but had surplus stock and often found in perfect condition because was remainder stock. #1 may also have large format reprint before small format
of more note in current auction is not size but possible banding in black areas on cover compare with http://www.travellerbibliography.org/alienstar/as6.jpg

I forgot to quote and then it went over the next page.. I reposted so someone wouldn't miss it...

OK let me say what I believe to be the case (this may or may not be true but its what I believe...) OK the short and sweet of it...

These items are reprints of the origional zines. I do not believe them to be authorised. I do not belive that the seller of this auction is responsible for them or knows this, but is instead selling items he has acquired most likely off ebay. I belive they were done in or a short time before 2003 and more than likely done some place like Kinkos. Obviously done by a Traveller fan as most of them are pretty close to the origional (exact coppies I belive most of the time, although Wanderer 1 is a copy of issue 2 of the origional Wanderer), someone has coppied a lot of hard to get zines thats for sure. These zines are limited to the US, although obviosly with ebay may have spread these around a bit. Almost all of them I bought were about $5us at the time each, and not getting some of the big prices they are getting today, so they weren't intentially done to make bit $$ off people, but rather obvious to sell in bulk to Traveller collectors.

I bought a large lot of zines from the person (most of what he had although I belive not all of them). At the time he said they were excess back stock and he didn't know much about them. From my memory the following zines fall into this catagory:

2300AD Resource

Adjutant, The

Alien Star

Between Worlds

Continuum

Dark Star (UK)

Dark Star (Aussie)

Dark Star II (Aussie)

Imperial Lines

Imperium Staple, The

Jumpspace (maybe...)

North Coast Roleplaying (I think?...)

Parasec

Security Leak Newsletter

Signal GK

Starships, Starports and Vehicles

Third Imperium

Tidewater Traveller Times

Variant (hmm.. not too sure about this one)

Wanderer, The (issue 1 for sure, maybe issue 2 as well...)

There may be more...

and looking at that auction I would add Evening Star to the list...

I don't belive I have any other coppies of most of the zines so I can't confirm contents with the "origionals"  I'm not to sure about the difference in height of the Alien Star zines, I'd have to check my coppies... as I'm pretty sure I have a couple of differnt coppies...

Trust me when you have 50+ of them spread out over the floor and you have as many as I do, you can't help but think what I think...

What to look for:

All of these zine are Traveller related

They are all perfect (look like they were printed yesterday) with nice shiney new staples.

A lot have brightly coloured covers (not all, for example I'm pretty sure Starships, Starports and Vehicles have a clear plastic cover over the main cover)

Lot of five lead miniatures from Superior.  What makes them unusual is that they are science-fiction miniatures and 100mm scale:

And they don't even say for certain whether they're the tape- or perfect-bound ones!  (Since the latter is still available from Chaosium)
