Just a reminder:

As long, long promised, here is a actual page from the classic Caverns of Thracia drawn by Paul and given to us to help defray costs of the North Texas Role Playing Game Convention.  Along with this page are four limited edition art prints of dragons. These were all donated and all sale costs go to next year's shindig. Please email me if you have any questions!

That's an astoundingly small amount of information and photos for a $300 auction.  Or am I supposed to already know what this is?

If Paul is around you could ask him.

That was my thought too.  If this is something really cool, wouldn't you want to explain a bit about it and have more than one mediocre picture?

There is probably some info here about it too since it looks like it is from the Steve Marsh auctions held by The Collector's Trove.

I would say so.

Unless it's of particular interest to someone, I wouldn't say it's worth $300. It's not of any great import in the developement of either RPG system, and doesn;y seem to be of any great artistic benefit either. From what I've read of unpublished manuscripts and obscure articles, Steve Marsh is a particularly gifted and somewhat under appreciated writer, so it's probably well worth reading, but it's very little work for $300.

Might be worth a mention on the Steve Marsh thread on Dragonsfoot. He seems to be a regular poster there and is likely to shed a little light if prompted.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

Reading through the related forums, I think there has been enough light shed on this item and it has been determined what it actually is - not the American Gothic manuscript.

It is also another item from the InvincibleOverlord collection that was initially purchased for $178 which is probably a bit high for what it is.

So is this IO selling through another name and pretending not to know anything about D&D?! Or has it been passed on to someone else who is selling it and has no idea about D&D? Bad pictures and no honest description! Familiar behaviour, and something fishy here perhaps? I seem to remember signage reaching the market in a similar way. Anyone know what's going on?

This is the same seller that sold the TSR sign so I would guess the seller is legit.  As to how clueless he is - no idea.

The real question is, is the product deffinately from IO? And if so, why is it being sold in this manner? Everyone knows this has nothing to do with CoC or AG. The seller seems to be being vague and deceptive.

It is an item that IO won (back in 2005) and like the sign seems to have gone to one of the members of his group.  I'm guessing IO didn't give the info for each item as they were dispersed.

That would account for it.
Didn't realise IO's wasn't a personally owned collection.
