She did tell me how many Gazetteer sets she had in SW (back then) with a couple of them having tears in the SW, and/or Dinged up corners.....
She may have had one or two sets not in SW.

She just listed another incomplete Gazetteer box set that is Not SWed and is missing the maps.
It should go very cheap with no maps as long as the bidders actually read the description that is....

I think she has sold her last complete Gazetteer Box set.
If she had any more complete sets, I think it would have been listed either before or at the same time as this incomplete set.

I just checked and it was on June 16th.  She mentioned that the shrink was missing, but that the copy appeared to be intact.  Maybe she didn't realize until later that some of the items were missing.

So when these sets were selling at $40.00 at Origins I should have snapped them all up?

10 hours to go and only one bid 99 cents. Too expensive to ship in Australia, but if I was in the US, I would have a crack at this. Hard to find in such good condition.

If you are being serious, then the answer is yes.

There were at least 4 or 5 boxed sets there that I could have purchased, but I didn't want to commit that much cash at the time...

... now I know better...

Had not read about fakes of that FanZine, but that seller is on the Rip-off Seller Radar here, as outed by BClarkie.

So, it would not surprise me.

Good spot, Mark.

Oh boy, that's a naaaasty looking (possibly late?) 1990s fake: part of the great Traveller rip-off and presumably tallies with Ian's "unwanted"(!) copy from a few years back?

Contrary to the auction listing, the 'zine had one of the higher print runs for the era; as noted in the genuine #2, at least. "I was told that shipping can be high when mailed out of the US...so international buyers please keep this in mind" gets a smile as well. Who'd've thought USPS has a website? :)

Yep. Got that one. Almost as rare as the real one.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

I'll avoid the temptation to say that it would be a trivial matter to photocopy an omnibus edition with a doodled (and blurry) pic of Groo standing on a tower parapet on the cover; in order to create an even more "rare" version. ;)
Fake 'zine is fake.

Fake 'zine is fake.

Actually, the guy completely re-typeset the whole thing in a wordprocessor and used a DTP package instead of UHU and a photocopier to assemble the 'zine. It is a completely new presentation (as opposed to a photocopy with a new cover), except that the contents of fake 'zine 1 are the contents of the real 'zine 2, and the fake 'zine 2 has the contents of 'zine 3 in it (or is it the other way around? Brett will know). A very strange affair either way. Certainly someone going WAY overboard to try to score a quick buck. He'd have been better off photocopying PoVQs and sketching up a cover with bats on it. :D

Makes more sense in that Traveller context as Kynan found out. Thankfully fakes are few and far between outwith those.

EotPT.

$165.00 starting price....

Not rediculous, but VERY optomistic considering the condition of the box.

PLUS:  the fact that there are 2 others currently listed on E-Bay that are priced at half as much or less right now.

Both of the others have crushed boxes too, but they are FAR cheaper...

Those are Dragon Dice for the Dragon Dice game, not Dragon Dice for D&D.  :(
