So...now that Troll Lord Games has a PayPal ordering option on their website, I see that it is possible to pre-order Castle Zagyg: The Upper Works with a click on a PayPal link.

That should now bypass the frustrating email contact system.

So...is there any benefit for ordering in advance?

Why is the product only available using priority shipping?

Is anyone else here planning to pre-order E. Gary Gygax's final big project?

I wont be pre-ordering it.  I should be able to pick it up at GenCon fairly easily I would think.  Guess I will find out when I get there.

From what I was reading about the demise of West End Games, pre-order without delivery seems to have played a part.

O.K.  Time to show my ignorance.  Castle Zagyg sounds interesting because I know Gary Gygax has something to do with it, and it sounds like a castle 8O.  Other than that, I don't know a whole lot.  Please tell me why D&D players and/or collectors should be interested.

And no, I won't be pre-ordering anything unless it's through a trusted and willing Acaeum member. 8)

So it's like what WGR1 Greyhawk Ruins and WG7 Castle Greyhawk should have been?  It's a module and not just a collection of maps, right? :?:

And it is more than either.
At least from what I can tell from the products being offered.

Castle Zagyg along with its environs seemingly being advertised as a campaign setting.
The Town of Yggsburgh along with the castle itself will comprise enough adventuring supplements to make a campaign.

The town already has at least seven supplements, and the castle itself at least two (Upper works and Dungeons), make that at least three if you count the Dark Chateau, which ties directly into the Castle at the end.

Zagyg was using the Chateau to live in while the castle was being completed and Zagyg left some things in the Chateau when he moved from there to the newly completed castle.

I never pre-order, but I also do not have to.

Neither do I.
Not since the Pied Piper fiasco that lasted well into an entire year.
After that deal, I have decided NOT to pre-pay for these sorts of things.
i.e. game modules, ect.

But to be honest, Goodman Games looks to be much bigger an operation and far less likely to hinge all its functionality on one individual.
Which was PPP's biggest problem.
Only one man to do it all.

Corporations can fall just as well as individuals. The whole concept of prewhoreders is risky at best for both sides involved.

I've had a pretty good pre-order success rate..only 3 were shaky with problems, but 2 of them eventually came through with product...with one that may eventually get it's item released.
