For those of you who didn't know, Chuck Crain, former CEO of Ral Partha (and the man largely responsible for the Ral Partha AD&D license), died August 23.
I knew Chuck to talk with him, and I got the chance to work side-by-side with him at Origins 2004 in the Iron Wind Metals booth.
Truth be told, I can't say I really "knew" him at all. What I do know is that he was a hell of a nice guy. He even traded me his promotional copy of Ral Partha's Great Red Dragon.
The couple of times I had the privilege to help out down at IWM, Chuck was friendly and talkative as I bombarded him with questions about Ral Partha in the 80s.
Ironically, I picked up the Great Red Dragon last week from the artist who painted it for me. I was going online to find his email address - I figured he'd be the first one with whom I'd share the painted pictures of "his" dragon.
Instead of his email address, I found his obituary.
Just thought I'd pass this on, for those fans of AD&D Series 11 figs or for those who might have known him.

What did he die of?
Games can get you through times of no money but money can not get you through times of no games!!

The first link is the best one.
