They do appear to have learned from last year.  I particularly like the "We do not anticipate running out, either at Gen Con or afterward..." line  :D

Presumably Goodman Games will be watching closely to see how well this sells.  There could be more ahead!

I know it isn't much a collecting-related question, but can you offer any spoilers regarding the adventure, Tacojohn?

Well........

....spoiler alert,,,,

....spoiler alert,,,,

....spoiler alert,,,,

....spoiler alert,,,,

....spoiler alert,,,,

Here are some excerpts from the three adventure summaries:

From Legacy of the Savage Kings Adventure Summary:
For centuries, the Great Swamp has hidden hints of an ancient culture of barbarian kings. While passing through this miserable bog....the heroes discover that a great corruption once infested this place, destroying the savage barbarian kings and leaving only mighty statues as their legacy. Now this corruption has returned, and a terrible Witch Queen is mining the corrupted swampearth.  The heroes must enter the ancient caves of the savage kings, put to rest the corrupt legacy of their downfall....and then face off against the Witch Queen herself.

From Lost Passage of the Drow (bridging adventure, the "new material") Adventure Summary:
Seeking a magical means of reaching the Sett of the Witch Queen (the latest lair & fortress of the Witch Queen), the PCs strike out for the legendary Lost Passage of the Drow. Beginning in a forested sylvan glade, the adventure quickly takes the PCs down into the depths of the earth as they follow an underground river and explore the deadly catacombs protecting an ancient elven gate. Unlocking the secrets of the magical portal will test the mettle of seasoned PCs, and they find themselves flung deep into the Northlands. But this proves to be only half the challenge, as the PCs must succeed battling their way past strange new monsters.  The PCs might have a chance of returning to the sun-dappled surface world, if things go well.  But if the PCs should fail they will live out the remainder of their wretched lives as slaves, never to be seen again.

From War of the Witch Queen Adventure Summary:
Sent on a mission to slay Kyleth the Witch Queen, the heroes headed toward the icy reaches of the Northlands. There, in the heart of the foul moors, is the Demesne of Baba Yazoth, a foul sinkhole that has been home to wickedness since the dawn of time... The sinkhole conceals a witch's lair hidden in the rotten heart of a dead ashwood tree... Investigating the lair, the heroes discover a phantom fortune teller, a pair of portals and a massive stone seal. In order to pass the seal, the heroes must venture through the portals and overcome the Witch Queen's fell guardians to recover an artifact of great power. If the PCs manage to open the seal, they can descend into the heart of the lair, where they encounter the Witch Queen herself....again.

These adventures offer lots of old school goodness for the AD&D fans.  Strange environs, unique magic items, tough monsters, scheming and plotting NPCs - there is a lot to like in this story!

They just posted the Goodman Games quiz --- and one of the questions is derived from Moldvay's D&D Rulebook. That's pretty fun.

Guys, there were PLENTY of the DCC Saga of the Witch Queen available at the last day of Gencon so I didn't pick up any extras (at $20 a pop that would have cut into my convention budget!).  Be sure to pick up a copy at the Goodman Games site though, it's really great.

Got to have Erol Otus sign some of my DCC stuff....very cool!

Sorry should have said not available yet...I suspect the crew wants to get home from Gencon and see how many they have left before offering them online.

I keep looking as well but it has yet to appear.

Maybe they will post it when #51 appears?

If anyone doesn't want to wait any longer, I picked up an extra 2 copies at GenCon I'd be happy to sell for my cost + shipping (my cost being msrp + sales tax).  Just send me a PM.  :D

I received a bunch of PMs from people asking for one (or both) of my extra copies, but so far no one has actually sent any money.  If anyone still wants one, just paypal $25 to [email protected] and I'll get it shipped out in a usps priority flat rate envelope (with cardboard protection) that same day.  :)
