I compared the Blasted and Kobold to Beastie. Kobold is definitely orange, but a dark shade. Blast is slightly darker, but orange. Beast is red. The scans came out much darker than the original.

If you hit a Rowsdower, you get to keep it.

hi guys

my kobold hall is # 528

my blasted land is # 268

kobold has a slightly more orange tint to it and the blasted is more red.

my fez I is green and can't find my nanorien just now.

Your Nanorien is blue, Al. Remember I traded it to you last year?
That's about how my 3 match up as far as color, too. From orange to red it's Kobie, Blasted, Beastie.

I was just wondering if a first printing of the supplement "The Dark Folk" is worth anything? I picked up a copy of it in good condition from a local book store, and was just curious as I know next to nothing about the Role-Aids line of products. (I have heretofore only collected TSR products). Regardless, I intend to keep it, as it is chockfull of gaming goodness. The adventures therein have a nice early AD&D feel to them, quite reminescent of Gygax's "D" series of modules.

Not worth anything. But back in the day I ran several of the Dark Folk scenarios for my group, they do have a nice early AD&D feel to them.

Thanks for your help, Badmike! I had a feeling that was the case, but just wanted to make sure. Regardless, the book is a useful gaming supplement, which is all that really matters in the end. To wit, my most valued gaming possession is my shrink-wrapped copy of WG4 The Forgotten Temple of Tharizdun even though it rarely fetches more than a few dollars above cover price at auction.

There's a scenario in Dark Folk where you can find a vorpal longsword at the bottom of a well. Fairly low-level scenario, too.

If you hit a Rowsdower, you get to keep it.

In my experience vorpal swords are 2 a penny!!
I always look through peoples old stuff in job lots that I buy, and you would be amazed how tooled up peoples characters are. (And it's a rare character without 3 stats above 16!!), vorpal blades are simply not that rare I'm afraid
Obviously I'm generalising a bit here but it is interesting/funny to leaf through this sort of stuff - I guess it could be an insight into all of our games when we were 12

)

Some of the Role Aids stuff is fun to play. Some of it is intricate and/or convoluted enough as to make it useless...or merely to be read as opposed to played.

I like Dark Folk and Giants, by the way.

I sent Dave a serious inquiry as to shipping and handling costs. I might bid if he replies...but he has never given a pre-bidding shipping quote to me yet. Killjoy stands to win on this one.

What a great scenario. Best possible outcome would be for Al to win these on the cheap, Cougar loses his ass, then can't rip Killjoy on the shipping or Al will marathon run over there and feed him some fist. Worse outcome, but still entertaining, is Al wins, then Cougar either "loses" the items when sent to Al, or insists on trying to stick Al with a gigantic shipping bill. Still entertaining, because then Coug might be waking up in a hospital bed picking bits of Al's marathon delicious mint cakes out of his nose, ear and arse. Sweet! Al, I might have you start bidding on Cougie's items for me if this one works out well!!!!!! :twisted:

well truth be told, i already have one of each, so i am not THAT bothered really. the plan is, IF i can get them, is to keep the best one of each and then sell the other, so lets see.

I think everyone should deliberately NOT bid, and let Al have it for stupidly cheap money. Then perhaps he can pass it on to someone in need for a really nice price. Coug gets fuked, and everyone involved is ahppy.
