I am (as Killjoy might say) gobsmacked.

$113+ for a lot that I collected individually...only a month or so ago...for a total of around $30+. My shipping costs were higher, but not nearly enough to come up the total of something like this. I also have one more book than is listed here.

Perhaps I was fortunate?

Was it the mention of this lot on this site that blew out the price?

If so...sorry to any bidders here who saw the lot on their own.

*shrug* Paying that much for that many books indicates that they didn't own any and wanted them all now. I doubt that the Acaeum significantly influenced the price. Impatience and too much money probably had more to do with it.

I don't know....I have seen a direct correlation between posting on the Acaeum and the appearance of listings on Ebay....and a corresponding jump in price.

It happened with Thieves Guild and I predict it will happen again now that we are talking about Thieves Guild again.

In fact, I have seen it happen twice already with Thieves Guild.

The trick for me has been to shake the Ebay tree and then catch what I want after the big dogs have bid ridiculous prices for their own copies.

My plan did not work with the Thieves Guild second edition boxed set...as all I was able to shake out of the Ebay tree were shrinkwrapped copies. I don't want shrinkwrap because it artificially inflates the price and I can't open it without feeling like a dork and a vandal.

What I want is someone's complete but slightly worn copy that the condition collectors are not interested in.

Well, I have a shorter answer for it, ShaneG. :wink:

I imgaine that the post here certainly helped though as I see some familiar faces in there, but if you look at Shane's snipe which placed 2nd in that auction and the 3rd place bidder, his bid caused a $60 difference(which more than doubled the total price). Now his bid could have also pushed other people out, but we will never really know that.

I would have guessed that the rpg_auctions bid of $44 would have been the uber-bid for this lot. Boy was I wrong.

Yep, was hoping my snipe was a guarantee, but seems another either had the same idea or truly did want it for the $113+

I was pricing it at $10 a hardbound, $5 the smaller modules as a good price for one lot, then a little more for the win :lol:

Well now..got a 2nd chance offer, but its a scam all the way and not from the original seller (like I wouldn't check feedback and see this auction was paid for already)
