Comics has something of a revolution in the early 90s.  I'm not an expert on the subject, but I think it was due in part to computer-generated artwork, and new publishers.  This was the period in which Superman "died", as well.  (I mostly collected Thor.)

This story sort of reminds me of that movie.. You've Got Mail with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. The movie makes out the new big book store as the bad guy on the block, beating up on mom and pop stores. But if you actually think about it.. look at how Ryan ran her store. She deserved to go out of business. She had like 5 employees on the clock all the time! 5 employees to sell maybe 5 or 10 books a day? That could only make sense in Hollywood.

Work in a bookshop - like the idea!
Work in a bookshop run by Meg Ryan - mmm getting better
Work in a bookshop run by Meg Ryan- with NO customers - now we're cooking

I got a D20 module the other day, off of Ebay, that might be a collectors item one day.

It is The Eldest Son, part of the Dark Heaven Legends game line by Reaper Miniatures.

It was Reaper's first and only (I think) attempt at a module to directly support their miniatures line.  It is actually not bad, and the interior and cover art are very good (as one might expect).

Since there was only one in the line (the second, Vicious Circle, was cancelled), it seems like the sort of collecting trivia that might be popular in two decades.

Hi:

I wrote a review of the Freeport line from Green Ronin over on another thread.

Here is the link to it:

I'm looking for a copy of the Rappan Athuk Reloaded boxed set in NM condition. Anyone got a spare?

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

There has been a discussion on a related thread about which publication was the first D20 publication.

There have been several put forward as the first.  I got a copy of the module in this listing for free at Gen Con 2001:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

It is a Diomin module, Into the Darkness.

Anyone have a recollection of which item was really first?

OK...not technically a D20 product.  It is for Castles and Crusades, but I think this belongs in the OGL/D20 camp.

Not a bad price so far.

How is this series coming along? Are the proposed continuations (three more books, if I'm not mistaken) still going to be printed?

On the subject...

I picked up Rappan Athuk---Reloaded the other day, both as an investment (it sells for $75 in the stores and has already sold for as much as $100 online) and out of curiousity.

Anyway, if you play 3rd edition, it's a nice purchase, the dozens of levels and hundreds of pages could keep your group busy for awhile. If you play another version of D&D, it could be nice purchase because unlike other 3rd ed products there are no stat blocks crapping up the descriptions...they are all in another book, separate from the main text. Anothee book contains all the maps.  Without the ever annoying stat blocks, it doesn't interfere with a DM's creative juices if he wants to convert it to another edition.

Yep...there was 1000 printed and they are all sold out. And these came with numbered cards a few of which got the person prizes or were signed by Demon Lords
One card allowed free Necromancer Games products for life I believe and don't think anyone has come forward yet (demon signed one has been announced though)

Necromancer Games has gone to the model of placing the majority of its stat blocks at the back (something I prefer what with d20's way of presenting them.)

I'm someone in the know on this project, and basically all other TLG things at some level or other. The hardback format has been abandoned, as box sets are preferred. The first offering coming is a folio-like deal, and there are 24 modules (some still in production, the others waiting to be released) on the town Yggsburgh (not the Castle) itself to expand the city environs.
