Well thats cool, nice to know it wasn't main stream.
I stumbled across whilst searching for some fantasy art books, but that wasn't what I was looking for!

It was fairly mainstream, in that copies of the book made it into all kinds of places, like game stores and the like, which was no small talent at the time, when the bubble was bursting and "small press vanities" were being absorbed into the no more locus of non-existence.

Does anyone think that any of the Sinister Adventures books will be worth collecting, particularly the Razor Coast book, which has been eagerly awaited? Note that the latter will be in two versions, OGL and PathfinderRPG, but it's also print-on-demand, which might affect future values.

I love fantasy art as well and have a small but growing collection. If I'd come across the book in a bargain sale, I probably would have bought it too! It's interesting subject matter, but on skimming it, I can't help but think they could have made a much more fun, ie. humorous book. It seems so serious - I mean who wants a page with a colour plate of adult toys

Or "in game" statistics for said "adult toys..."

Having to DM a player "roleplaying" use of materials from this book would be uncomfortable to say the least!

I could see that it may have legs with regards race inter-breeding, diseases etc, but the apparent seriousness and depth involved as well as some of the content does push the limits somewhat. :lol:

I'd pick up the R2's that are under $10 right now. Then later the R1's but they are particularly easy to come by.

so (jumping back a bit) would anyone have the R1 R2 (not inc R3 probably due to cost) up for sale before I go in via AmazonUK at the moment.

Found a used R1 for £7ish inc shipping which doesn't sound so bad...

I have an extra R1 but not an R2 - would have to check the local game stores to see if there is still a copy floating around.

That doesn't sound like a particularly good deal. Isn't that something like $13?

I have seen them online lately for as little as $1...but that might be a problem for a UK purchaser.

I assume you've looked about a bit?

there are a bunch of R2s being sold on Amazon now for cheap prices, not sure if they ship to UK...

that's incredibly cheap! Looks like it may be around $13 for the R1 to ship as well, so better than buying from the UK for a used one... but got deals in the line with guys here, so I feel happier I'm getting the right service and a quality item that way

Can someone enlighten me on these R1, R2 items. I know there has been a lot of excitement about them - but as I am not really into new products I have not had that much interest and have not read through the lengthy threads discussing them.

I know it must have been stated before, but what is all the fuss with these modules? Can someone sum up in a nutshell - What is so good about them? - What system are they for? - Was there a limited print run?

R1-R3 Rappan Athuk was originally released for D&D 3.0. They were later recompiled (and edited significantly) into a boxed set for D&D 3.5. It's your basic meatgrinder super dungeon where you get to battle the evil cultists of Orcus. At least that's my opinion anyway.
