Just got mine  :)

Another great model.  Love the human shields used as giant greaves.

I am also looking forward to a fire giant (please).

Seriously, I thought of the Type V because I don't think a mini has been done of that (if someone knows of one let me know). Actually, all of the Demons/Devils would be good choices. I know some are out there - of course Type VI/Balrogs can be found easily. Dark Heaven puts out several different demons and devils, including a few Demon Lords/Arch Devils.

Reaper has done many of the Demons and Demon Lords. Yeenoghu, Orcus, Demogorgon. A Nalfeshnee. etc.  Unfortunately they had to use different names

Ral Partha has also done a Marilith:

I wasn't aware that Reaper had also done Yeenoghu, what's that one called?

02704: Manganaw, Gnoll Lord

They have them all. You just have to wade through all the other minis on their galleries. Or try the Fig Finder.

Was Ral Partha's Marilith from their licensed AD&D line? If so do, do you have the product number?

Thanks!

It's from their AD&D Planescape line, #11-653

See the Ral Partha Manufacturers Gallery on www.solegends.com for a complete list of the line.

Yep, and here she is....

Egg of Coot posted a picture of her on page (3) I believe?

I like Ral Partha's better, but then again, I'm partial to those AD&D licensed minis....  :D

Meh.  Old lead isn't something I get nostalgic for...I actually vastly prefer Reaper's minis to anything from Perren, Grenadier or RP!

My beef with Reaper is kind of personal. I was a huge fan of Ral Partha, and actually served as Iron Wind Metals' webmaster for a few years.

While good businesspeople, Reaper jumped into the void left when FASA shut down Ral Partha, changed the scale of gaming miniatures from 25mm to the 28mm-30mm crap we have now, and effectively "shut out" the classics in the short year-and-a-half Ral Partha was out of commission.

Don't get me wrong - I like some of Reaper's sculpts, too (Werner Klocke does AMAZING work!) But I'm a fan of vintage stuff, and Reaper's entry into the miniatures field and their ALTERING of it by the changing of scale really pissed me off.

End soapbox. I just think it's kind of funny that the D&D line WOTC is releasing is closer in scale in many ways to 25mm (snicker, snicker)  :D ... have you taken a good look at some of their humanoid minis?

Here's a pic of my new Fire Giant, again sculpted by Paul Muller.  Just a bit of tidying up to do, and should be available in 2-3 weeks.  He's pictured next to the Hill Giant for scale.

OK...that fire giant is nice!

A great reference to the old Monster Manual and good proportions for a giant's logical build.   :)

Also, I like the skulls.  They give the sense of proportion that giant figures are often missing.

That fire giant is the pick of the giants so far, IMO. Each giant in the series has been an improvement on the previous one.... fantastic work.

I haven't snapped any of the giants up yet but I think that might change in 2-3 weeks.

Regards

Mike

I also received the first 3 greens for my pig-faced orcs range.  They're so cool that I'm starting a new thread for them!
