Oh yes, definitely.

I'll probably get Kev Adams to do me a trio of Kobold, Goblin & Hobgoblin, then expand on those depending on what works best.  Look for them in early summer.

Ah the goblin master himself.  Good stuff.

I like the goblins he has done for Hasselfree and the Nemesis goblins for Bob Olley.

got the troll and the ogre - ace stuff.

Didn't realise the troll had two heads so I'll have to buy another now!

One thing I didn't mention on the suggestions for other figures in the range was mindflayers.  say 4-6 different ones (variations?).

mindflayers always seem popular and sell well (the old citadel ones do on Ebay!).

Glad you like 'em!

As for Mind Flayers, I don't plan to do them.  There are certain monsters whose IP rights WotC will probably defend vigorously, and the Mind Flayer is one of them.

I just got the green for the new Minotaur, and will post some pics later.

:(   Aaah that's a shame.  Would really have liked to have seen some.

If it is an IP issue how do Reaper get away with their Bathalians?

I would say that is because the Bathalians are not represented as "Mind Flayers," they are simply another race with squid heads. "Squid Headed Humanoids" are one thing, a specific "Mind Flayer" is another. If asked, the designers of the "Bathalian" were simply inspired by the same sources that the designer of the Mind Flayer referenced (i.e., the Cthulhu Mythis). However, being that these are classic-D&D inspired figures we are talking about here, it would be hard to represent a figure of such as anything but a "Mind Flayer." I supposed he could make a "Squid Headed Humanoid" figure and make it look substantially different from the classic "Mind Flayer," but then it wouldn't really be a "Classic Mind Flayer," would it? Catch-22.

A new figure, due for release in late March or early April, 'DM6 - Minotaur'.

44m to the eyes (standing on a 40mm base), 4 part casting in metal.

I don't mean this as a childish question, but does that minotaur have his genitals showing?  If so, an interesting sculpting decision considering the prurient background of the Minotaur's origin.

Considering the sordid details of the Cretan Minotaur's conception, surely a bit of nudity isn't too shocking?!

That's a fantastic looking mintoaur - great work!

Judging by his cock, I'd say he was in the middle of lifting his axe up over his head, rather than bringing it down.

Regards

Mike

Just wanted to chime in...I've got all of the Otherworld minis thus far (and will soon be ordering gnolls and bugbears...gah!) but I have to admit I'm not crazy about the minotaur. And this is coming from somebody who is nuts about the great work Richard is doing with this product line!

Not sure if it's the pose or the penis, but it leaves me a little cold. :(

I can think of no other situation where I will ever see these words written down :D  (though I admit I would have to agree!)

You can never have too much of something you didn't need in the first place.

Just another thought, Richard.  Does this mean that you will not be making an owlbear?

No, Jon, I reckon an Owlbear is fair game.  The following figures are not subject to the OGL,  so I won't be touching them:

   *  beholder
   * gauth
   * carrion crawler
   * displacer beast
   * githyanki
   * githzerai
   * kuo-toa
   * mind flayer
   * slaad
   * umber hulk
   * yuan-ti

WTF is a Gauth?

It's a kind of beholder...a lesser variety, I believe.

Great stuff I'll snap up an owlbear (or two - two head variants?) straight away.

Shame about the mindflayer and the umberhulk but I understand where you are coming from.

What if you make a lesser beholder? Call it a Peeker or Glancer or something.

If you hit a Rowsdower, you get to keep it.
