I can't figure out what is wrong with that.

Why is that bad?

The only thing that I don't like about it is the last statement of his auctions that states it is from his personal collection.  I guess that is true but it has only been in his personal collection for a week.

"personal collection" gives the buyer an indication that there's 1 or a very limited # of the items available. Hence the very large bids...

Essentially you're paying maybe $100.00 + for an auto  :?

As long as we're being honest, that's the part that bothers me, too. "Personal collection?" Yeah, I guess ... for a few days.

Meh. No bids from me. I won't be a part of it.

Well, hell, if this autograph thing works, I've got some stuff I could sell off (nowhere near those numbers in value) that just might be worth doing... heh.

Signatures don't generally seem to add much value to an item.  I think part of what come across from these auctions is the impression that these were his personal copies from 25 - 30 years ago and thus may also have some historical significance rather than these are copies that I bought two weeks ago and signed.

Speaking of which, anyone know what the general going price for copies of the core The Fantasy Trip rulebooks is? (Advanced Melee, Advanced Wizard, In the Labyrinth)

They had gone through a real low-ish swing the last time I checked ... which, admittedly, was probably more than a year ago. From the glory days of $40 to $60 for each individual book, they were selling for $20 to $30.

What's odd is that good-looking copies of the basic system (Melee and Wizard) actually are very much on the upswing. More proof that all things on eBay are cyclical, I guess.

Mixed bag of rolemaster/MERP.  Probably not for those who are fussy about condition, but good for a playing/starting collection.  And not bad for a £30 BIN (if you are in the UK).  Postage reasonable too.

What's up with the yellow cover?  I thought all the Beastmakers had red?....or at least all the ones I've seen have a red cover.

Blackdougal's site shows the yellow cover as well as a link to the red one:

http://home.flash.net/~brenfrow/ra/beastmaker.htm

And I thought all the Nanorien Stones had a blue cover...but Deadlord's recent auction had a green cover.  And then there is the Fez with the brown cover as well.  I am still looking for the rare Kobold Hall with the plaid cover.  PDT_Armataz_01_29

Fluffy Quest Special Edition also in that lot.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.
