Paying with PayPal, though, should cover the winning bidder if this thing goes south, so I guess it's no biggie.

I think the seller is legit.  Its the same seller who sold 3 Wee Warriors items a while back along with a bunch of other early gaming stuff.  They have positive feedback for those transactions.  But I agree, pictures would really be nice.

I think Frank had some of his auctions cancelled for stating he would accept cash - I don't think Ebay likes that either.

After re-reading my post, I realize that I come across as a bit of an elitist here, so i'd like to clarify: I don't automatically equate "low feedback" with "bad person." I like to think the opposite, in fact: other than a negative score, I really don't care what a person's feedback rating might be ... after all, we all had to start somewhere, right?

My point was that for such a rare and desirable item, I would have really liked to see a photo. For me, it's always sort of a "peace of mind" thing to see that the item A) actually exists, and B) that the seller took the time to upload an image.

Not that it matters, though, right? I mean, it looks like G. Stafford wants to win all of these items ...

I still have some if you're looking, Frank.
I'm not sure what eBay's issue is with cash. They used to allow it as an option, though for obvious reasons most people do not like to deal that way.

A game based on the D&D cartoon.

I'm probably splitting hairs here, but I think it's worth noting that it's a game based on "a" D&D cartoon (comic strip, actually) and not "the" D&D cartoon (the one with the unicorn). :)

The Dungeon of Dorukan game mentioned above (spelled wrong in the listing, BTW; not deserving of the rolly-eyes icon, either) is a fairly standard move-about-fight-monsters-and-grab-treasure game that has all of the expected D&D-ish cliches that are a part of our shared heritage (elves are smart, clerics are wise, traps and secret doors are everywhere, monsters live an impossible ecology, etc.). It's got some great production values, if perhaps being guilty of a too-high price sticker.

The price is pretty good right now; the seller should have been more careful to spell it correctly.

Hey Jason,

Thanks for the link and here is strip that mentions the game itself:
http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0013.html

Xaxaxe,

I was not putting down a game that I did not know anything about (not my nature) by using the "rolly-eyes" icon. With the icons available, I was just attempting to convey a questionable shrug. Maybe I should have used "confused", but I was not confused, just curiously perplexed  :)

No, I've had the same thoughts: sometimes I wish we had another dozen or so icons to choose from. No worries.

For those interested, OotS does have some good gamer humor. Its take on D&D is definitely 3e-ish, but the author is a genuinely funny guy.

He also at least channels an old school vibe or three, as he co-wrote the WotC 3.5 Dungeonscape, which---while it's not the book I wish it was---is decent, and doesn't suck (which is a far cry from most WotC books these days).

I haven't seen this version for a long time...

Hmm, no, I don't have a gambling problem, I'm winning, and winning is not a problem. That's like saying Michael Jordan has a basketball problem, or Def Leppard has an awesomeness problem. So why don't y'all pour some sugar on that?

Anyone else get that sneaking suspicion that tucked away somewhere in this lot is a PoVQ?   :D
