Speaking of Call of Cthulhu - how can this be being sold?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Call-of-Cthulhu-Sec ... dZViewItem

Secrets of Kenya hasn't been released yet.  I thought Chaosium hasn't even got it back from the printers yet?

Ebay allows you to pre-sell things 30 days from release I believe, this may be the case although it doesn't say this...

I wasn't aware that it came shrinkwrapped originally.  The letter I got from Richard Snider after winning his personal copy described him and Arneson signing the books from the first sets that were sold.  Of course, that wouldn't preclude the possibility that they were signing a sub-set of the first run.

Maybe I've got my facts wrong, though.  Wouldn't be the first time.   :D

I cannot remember if the one I had came in shrink or not.  :(
Picked it up around 1985 in the clearance bin of a game store in Montreal (somewhere in the neighborhood of the Forum if I recall correctly).

I have a good set but it is not shrinkwrapped. This is a classic item. A great piece of RPG history!

Sealed 1st print masks of Nyarlathotep Box Set. Looks lovely.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... WNA:US:122

Be warned, shrinkwrap does not stop the contents from acquiring mould or staple-rust. It may look great on the outside, but you never know...

Still, it does look lovely.

[edit. seller has some other attractive Call of Cthulhu stuff]

Was watching a few of those items myself.  I can't believe the low price on this item:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

I think that is just about the cheapest I have ever seen that go for.  I did manage to pick up Trail of Tsathogghua though.  :D

Another thread or two mentioned magazines and fanzines.  Here are separate auctions for appendices to an American Tolkien Society fanzine.  Most of their auction descriptions say "Was once folded in half for mailing and bears address label":

. . . eBay listings
