Not to beat a dead horse, but there's 6 Avalon Hill Titan games up on eBay right now -- which is pretty unusual -- so you might be able to pick one up fairly cheap.

There's actually a $110 BIN for an unpunched copy:

Ouch! My snipe didn't even register. :)

I've always wanted one of the white-box versions, and I thought I finally was going to pull it off. But that sucker really took off on the last day ... oh, well, as we like to say, "there's always another one."

I was wondering when the seller would list another photocopy.  This has been listed a number of times and sold at least twice now.  I guess as long as you have the original you can keep on selling copies of it.  Heh, doesn't this fall into the category of bootlegs or something?

yes i've seen that sell a few times too.

if it is a bootleg though, i have seen like copy film scripts selling etc, so surely they fall under the same thing?

It would be a bootleg if the seller were not authorized to make copies.  However, it sounds like the author is signing the photocopies...did not read carefully enough...is that what he's saying?

From reading the description, I'm not exactly sure what you are getting.  In the best case, it is a photocopy of the manuscript that was then signed by the author and the author then impressed his seal on each of the pages?  The whole seal thing is kinda strange to me.  Although all this might authenticate the item and make it legal to sell it just seems odd.  Almost as if the seller was Dave Morris or a friend of Dave's trying to make a few bucks.

I imagine it is a friend of Dave Morris trying to make a few bucks.

It would be legal, so long as the author still owned the publication rights and the seller was authorized to sell.

TSR used to buy all manuscripts outright.  That meant that all work for TSR was work for hire, and they owned the work from that point.

I don't know what White Dwarf did.

I wouldn't really be in the market for a photocopy of an obscure magazine module...maybe in the 99 cent range...or maybe if it was by an author that I simply had to collect.  For instance...I would have paid for a photocopy of Rob Kuntz's City of Brass manuscript.  I would also pay for Castle Greyhawk or something else like that.

More than one guy has sold his home-brew adventure on Ebay.  I have even bought several of those...by Ben Burns.

White Dwarf didn't, at least with the materials that Paul Vernon and Roger Musson wrote.

What about a photocopy of a tournament???

I have something in my possession I have been thinking about selling/distributing for awhile.  It is the actual rounds of an AD&D tournament for Aggiecon in 1982, I believe. (Aggiecon is held annually at Texas A&M university for the last 30 years or so).  A friend of mine who attended college there at the time was one of the judges.

There was ONE original tournament copy...all of the judge's copys are/were PHOTOCOPIES of that one original.  So the three rounds I have are basically a huge stack of photocopied sheets (from HANDWRITTEN notebook paper, no less).

Don't know even how to begin listing something like this...so I never have.  It's a huge stack of paper.  But essentially, when it comes down to it, it's a photocopy of an original (albeit a one of a kind, no doubt long destroyed/gone original).  I guess it'll end up just being a curiousity piece...
