Not sure if this is the right place for these and, not being a collector of such, I don't know too much about them. Just caught my eye and may be of some interest to somebody :

Walker at EUR100 already, wow.

** expired/removed eBay auction **

This German seller is already half-way through a whole bunch of Cthulhu auctions and is *raking* it in. EUR45 for the Great Old Ones. Cthulhu comeback or a case of right time/ right place?

There have been a couple that have gone cheaper than I expected, but for the most part he's making a killing.

I had my eye on that Horror on the Orient Express in the hopes that it would slip under the radar (as European auctions sometimes do).  Sometime last night it passed the snipe I had setup, so I'm guessing no. :)

(And what was up with that Great Old Ones?  Yowza!)

Didn't ask about the booklet, though am sure someone may have.  Course without an envelope, journal, Ref sheet and/or cover sheet it could only be classified as a 1st or 2nd (no 'true' marker) print.

Not sure if the value will be effected with the boycott, but then who knows till its over.

Just won & received this, thanks for the tip. Nice price too, $30 compared to the over $100 I bid on vermillionfire's copy recently. Thanks, Wayne's World of Books, for saving me from such folly by outbidding me that time. You resellers do a real social service.

Of course, that copy had the original plastic baggie for the tokens. Maybe we should add this to the valuation pages: one Hobbit Games plastic ziploc bag, $75 USD.

Very true, but that's often what collectors look for, the raw unpolished beginnings. In this case a rip-off of the Tolkien book covers of the time. JRR himself objected to their goofiness, especially to the emus depicted on a Middle-Earth landscape. Little did he know how prophetic that would be.

CotR apparently went the extra step of honoring the author's wishes by replacing the emus with Flamingos on their version. Also notable is the illustration of Gollum, showing how quickly the character's features had solidified in the general public imagination. John Lennon was considering a film role as Gollum at the time, I wonder how that would have gone.

Gotta love Wayne....he has outbid me several times in the past and paid way more for stuff than I ever would have....saving me quite a bit of money when I later picked the same item up for half of what he paid.  :D

Don't go for the Buy It Now..that's for the rubes.  Those sets are going pretty cheap lately, take a chance on the bid and don't go over $25...!
