Must be an attempt for somebody to get more that 99 cents per issue.

(I have a box of Dragons that I have been tempted to auction off by the pound).

Check out my Chaosium sourcebook.

I think I have a bid on something from that seller.  Hopefully I actually get what I supposed to be bidding on.  8O

Orc's Lair boxed set with no orcs; the orcs were scared off by the adventurers and left only their box behind.

Denizens of the Swamp boxed set with no denizens.  But there is a beholder, and that almost makes it worth buying.

Anecdote...

In the early 1980s TSR talked with Valiant Miniatures (of IL) and hired their founder & boss, Art Neckerman, to do TSR's new in-house castings (producing the various boxed sets of figures for AD&D etc. Art had his sons take over Valiant temporarily while he set up shop in Lake Geneva for a few years... no more than 5, iirc. Eventually Art went back to run Valiant.

In the minis biz there are of course various test castings, to fiddle with the composition of the molds, the white metal, and so forth.

Some of us got some of the test figures.

I thus have miniatures of the central figures from Star Wars (IV, i.e. 1), cast by TSR but never released (of course).

So the concept of Cthulhu minis from TSR isn't all that far-fetched!

Grenadier "Orc's Lair" miniatures:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

except that only one of the miniatures is an orc -- and it's the standard-bearer, without his standard, so it's more like half an orc (but not a half-orc, because that would actually be useful).

At least he's got the right box!

From the seller's description "I Try To Describe Any Flaws, Etc. That May Be Important, But Encourage Questions Before Bidding!"

Question sent. Definitely.

It always makes me laugh the things Sellers list under roleplaying games. Alongside your dice and miniatures and D&D modules you have

A unicorn hobby horse

Quick hurry, only three hours left. Can't you just picture yourself riding this around the living room after taking flight and narrowly escaping some marauding trolls!

Another great one listed under RPGs:

DM to Players: "OK. Now close your eyes. Don't open them until I say so. 'Click' 'Click' 'Click' 'Click' 'Click'.

"Ok. You wake up locked in a dungeon cell without your equipment."

Player: "Oh. Err.. I try to break my bonds"

DM "OK. Make a bend bars check, role 2d10"

Player "How?"

DM "Be creative..."

This role playing accessory comes in Gold, Silver or Steel Colour

http://toys.search.ebay.com/_Role-Playi ... sZevankest

Item descriptions stated as simply "mint" or "near mint" and the stockiest stock pictures that I've seen in a long time.  Hell, Before the Fall still has the Amazon.com "search inside" overlay on it.

(Actually, given the 230x230 dimensions on most of the pictures, I'd say the majority of them were swiped from Amazon.)

I have been patiently waiting for a decent price on the Cairo Guidebook for some time now and that is definitely not it.  8O
