Interesting that a thread was never started over here for this...

Gotta love the photo for this one. Why even bother putting a photo up at all if you're gonna use something like this?

It was a book someone saw while he was running through the park. He didn't have time to stop, but he managed to get a snapshot of it.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

Wow, thanks for the laugh. That is just awful — what goes through people's heads in situations like this?

Film might be one thing, since it costs actual money ... but just taking another digital snap costs absolutely nothing! And what a message it sends: "I'm too lazy to really care about any details; don't you want to risk your money with me?"

I ask the seller about this and they told me the bottom picture was the same as the top. They also state what you see is what you get...

Book MERP Middle Earth - MIDDLE EARTH w/ Map

It could be a browser cache issue but to me this is what I am seeing....

The top is the original book and map and the bottom is the Court of Ardor and map. If they did not already have the Court of Ardor up with the same picture I would be willing to gamble at $5.50 but I am pretty sure the seller did not look at the pictures on the auction when I ask.

I wonder if some people even proof-read their auctions before posting 'em? In this one, the book doesn't match the picture...

edit: The seller has a store with LOTS of items up. My guess is a mistake is going to happen once in a while, so I just contacted him and told him about his mistake (found two in one day actually, for different eBay stores).

I eventually deciphered this seller's shipping example, but it still makes my head hurt:
Seller's payment instructions
USA_ first class 2.50 or PRIORITY _ $5.00 Canada and England $5.00 air mail<<>> ground 4-6 weeks $3.50 Everywhere Else_ $6.00 air mail <<>> ground $4.50

COMBINE MUTIPILE Ral Partha wins add .75 cents shipping per item<> ALL WINNING BIDS ADD $1.00 HANDLING /MATERIALS CHARGE <<>> add.50 cents for each adtional item!!<>EXAMPLE- 4 RP items won USA, Priority $5+(.75x3)2.25,+$1+ .50 x 3 = 1.50 for a TOTAL 9.75<>

I was actually going to bid on this....but then I read the post.....

This seller is totally reliable on shipping, but check out the picture and then read what condition the seller lists:

I still might bid...?

I'm actually surprised it doesn't say "Minor Staining to Cover, otherwise Near Mint".

Would the winner pay extra for the foot-print (depending on whose foot-print it is...)

Geez, you're right!  I think I recognize Bob Bledsaw's footprint!    8O

If only Bob had thought to dip his hand in ink and splap it onto the cover!

Here is somebody whom I would not trust their item descriptions. They clearly don't even look at their listings after they have typed them in. :-)

Yes, but that Dodge Challenger looks damned fine.   :D

It's the last item in a "Turbo Lister" auction post, and the other 40 items appear to have correct photos.

Hmmm . . . he does have some old boardgames.  This one has a weird phallus-like object as a game part.   8O

I suppose you ambush the Beaver with the phallus. I've played this a lot in the past. I usually lose.

"All together for one money. "

This line makes me suspect that the seller's first language is not English.

He fixed the pic, so he must read the forum.  I think though that he set the price too high, as not many people want a pre-revised copy of the rules, the supplements are extremely common, and the JTAS magazines aren't the scarce ones from the end of the run.

The book was a headache to read, so it's not far off the mark.
