Erk..

I've just had to apologize to the seller for not noticing earlier that they

don't take paypal..

Does anyone UK based know how I can arrange a postal order in

US dollars?

Making an international bankers draft has about a 70 dollar overhead

hey muddy

thats why i didnt get anything of his mate. have a word with one of the US chaps. frank, paul or brian can prb help you out, all cool chaps that they are (and a fair smattering of others besides too!)....

prb a lot easier to do that and get them to pay the funds direct in the US and then send paypal funds to them with a few $ extra for all the charges etc...

just a thought....its prb what i would do.

Be glad to cover it for you. One glitch: it has to be tomorrow; I leave for the Lake Geneva con on Wednesday.

It would work like this: You get the total, with shipping to your home. I send him a money order for that amount; you pay me via PalPal. You instruct him that the MO is coming from me; when that arrives, he mails the stuff to you. No problem.

email me ASAP at [email protected] if you want to run it this way.

I didn't win any of this guy's auctions...to my chagrin.

(He certainly undercut himself by posting all of those things at the same time.)

actually the worst thing he did, was not offer paypal. his items seriously suffered because of that. i WOULD have bid pretty strongly on about 10-12 items there....

his loss.

Why not offer to send US$ cash - if you're prepared to take the risk?

I guess cash would have had to be the last resort. But what do you
do if it never arrives..  ?

Anyway, thanks Frank for your offer. I've sent an email. If I miss
out on the deadline for your con, how long are you away!?

thanks

Mike

hello

i have sent about 50 items with just cash over the years to US.have never had a problem.just put the cash in a christmas card to hid it.

the thicker envelope as well. balsden bond works fine.you get no assurance but all people i have delt with this way have been fine.

Concealed cash has worked every time I've needed to use this method (when the seller would actually provide an address :?). The seller is unlikely to be dishonest over a small amount and risk a neg. and the chances of being "lost in the post" are, in theory, extremely small but I've always worked on those being "at my risk".

The zero commission charge at the UK Post Office is a boon to such small cash transactions, of course.
