Has anyone seen WoTC employee tie tacs or lapel pins selling recently?  I've seen a 5 year gold pin of the Wizards logo and a ten-year gold and diamond tac, also of the logo, but was curious to the value and sales history.

Kind of shocked no one put a bid in yet..only $4
But seriously, someone needs to make a site for all of this stuff.

Picked most of it up years ago on Ebay when few collectors were interested in this type of stuff. The Kitsch/licensed items are always cool to display in your collection.

I think we have at least one more mug. They aren't TSR but were sold through Dragon Magazines in the early years. I know for certain that we have a Dwarf one. Just keep a watch on our items and we will get around to listing it.

Is this by chance a mug by Merit?  They had reddish coloured pictures on a white mug.  Others in the series include unicorn, enchantress, wizard, hafling, dwarf, and dragon.

Couple of articles from The New York Times, an operation of mathematical probability called 'the Monty Hall problem:'

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/08/science/08monty.html
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/08/science/08tier.html

Why did they choose the name? It's similar to 'monty hall' dungeons, where random PC choices determine the game rather than good strategy.

It seems logical that 70s players would use the reference, as the game show host was then at the height of his popularity. For mathematicians to use it today, they must be remembering the D&D usage.

The mathematic problems refer directly to the game show host, not via D&D.  In the first sentence, they reference "Let's Make A Deal!" (the show of which Monty Hall was host), and the entire problem is about what is the most favorable decision for a contestant to make on the show.

Found the mug. It is white with a dwarf in black. The dwarf is kind of dressed as a swashbuckler.

They come up once in a while.  Usually don't go for too much unless they are in SW.  Even then, not a whole lot.
