Okay, I threw a lot of fuel onto what was apparently a simmering stew of Tonya/Titan resentment, and I feel bad to have caused that level of distraction.

So, to help make amends, here's something completely fun — although it will in no way help any of us get any closer to our collecting goals. It is, in fact, just an exercise in idle speculation.

The question: when will our own Al — that's Killjoy 32 to you, pal — hit 3,000 posts at The Acaeum?

A fair point. I asked our judges — the same folks from the figure skating scandal at the Salt Lake City Olympics — and they ruled that all posts must come from the same account. Sticklers for detail, those judges ...

Would you rather I "rebooted" and *lol*'d 361 times?

What's this Winter Olympic Games thing, btw? *invokes amnesia*

Surely that can't be serious Olympic sport, anyhow, when our only medal was won by someone sliding face-down on a tea-tray at 80 mph ^^

That's it, I'm writing a Perl script to login and post to this thread continuously.
What do I win if I hit 2^64 posts without the server catching fire?

(Just kidding, Foul, put down the access list.)

I was thinking of the figure skating controversy from the 2002 Games ... later revealed to be judges pretty much literally selling their votes.

Hey, one medal is nothing to be ashamed of ... y'all won just as many as Belarus and Latvia. *{ducks quickly}*

We have a rather talented young lady here in Canada that picked up 5 medals.

Hey, it's a free market, no?

(*nods*. I remember that one... :( Noticed that the new system threw up some similarly perplexing placings but now it's so obscure at least no-one can be accused!).

I fully expected Jamaica to finish ahead of us in the tables... 8)

And you also won that 'sliding a big stone slowly along the ice' competition.

I actually thought "it doesn't look that hard. the perfect sport for me"

Curling.  Yes, it's fun...and easy.  It's less fun and more difficult when you get too serious and try to play strategically.  Most amateurs just treat it as "bowling, with ice".  I have curled in an intoxicated state before, quite hilarious. :)

And, uh, what were we talking about here ... ? Oh, yeah, the Olympics! :)
