As for the occasion, I guess that French people uses the same condition rate as US or UK sellers. It is in VG condition (not "Cougie rates"

Looks like a missed opportunity. I think they will continue to move up in price. The boxes are very flimsy resulting in corner tears.

Given the downward trend on Mayfair Games for the past year or so, that's a bit of a surprise: three way bidding, too.
$50-75 perhaps at best before that for Nanorien Stones (there are a few on my auction spreadsheet to $70, anyhow) but only pushing $100 when in shrink.

Isn't Origins held in March each year (Vegas?)...

Even in March of 2009 that was cheap.

Wish I were there, at that price I would have picked up as many as I could carry out.

Then would have gone back for more.

The listing that you linked is only at $73 right now; ending later today.

I would be mildly surprised if that copy does not go over $100...

It looks to be Mint and is easily one of the nicest looking sets that I have seen listed in a long while.

If I did not have more than enough sets already, I would bid $100 plus myself.

Shipping is fine at $15.50 too, those are fairly heavy boxes.

Flimsy?

I hate to disagree with Martin, but I do not think the boxes are flimsy.

At least no more than other boxes of that sort are.

The weight of the contents of the Gazetteer Box sets is what makes the boxes susceptible to tears and dings.

The DCC 51 Boxes also tend to rip and tear, but then they are almost twice as large and twice as heavy as the Gazetteer sets.

Careful care in packing should prevent most of the problems.

These wont sell for any less anytime soon either, even in this depressed economy.

Unless another seller puts up a dozen copies (one or two at a time) as happened late last year. :wink:

Origins is in Columbus, Ohio. And it takes place in June.

And the DCC boxes are much sturdier than a lot of others such as Castle Zagyg....that's for sure. The paper covering the corners does tend to tear on the larger box sets as you mentioned.

I'm comparing them to the Forgottem Realms box sets. But I believe the Forgotten Realms box sets to be a bit more sturdier than the Goodman Games box sets. I aggre the Goodman sets are very heavy and contribute to the corner damage. Which is another reason they should have been placed in better boxes.

I understand # 1 to be much more uncommon than 2-6 (in the first series).

I wonder if that's due to a smaller print run?

A while back, Badmike posted about the quality of these books, and I was able to snag 1-6 in my flgs for $120 (Cdn cover, I think)... and he was right, the art, writing, and plot are all well above average, imho.

Yep, well there's three copies of Burnt Offerings listed at $149.95 on ebay.com at the moment. A little optimistic, I think!

I was just about to list this on Ebay (picked up two addition copies at a local store for cheap a few months ago.

Games can get you through times of no money but money can not get you through times of no games!!
