High compared to UK auctions that don't allow international shipping:

** expired eBay auction **

This seller had 3 of them all sold for less than 3 pounds each.

and thats why you do a test bid first to see if you can bid...
Always ask to be put on the exception list if they agree to let you bid, have been caught out many times before...

feel free to fire me a PM if you get UK only auctions in future chaps, as I don't always check the 'items on ebay' threads too regularly.

Normally, I find out it is US or UK only about 5 minutes before the auction ends but I appreciate the offer and see if I end up doing some preplanning in the future.

Bleh, made me a bit ill to lose this one.  I figured with no notice here and a mid week, mid day, three day auction I had it cold.  My snipe never even registered.

Gratz to someone... and if you ever want to sell it... let me know!

LOL.. never mentioned on the interesting item list, but you would have to really be hoping that this would be missed.. I was bidder no1, I knew I'd never win just wanted to track it.. and what a final bid, must be up there as one of the highest non D&D item..
TFM? is the winner? I don't follow peoples bids much..

(Edit: yep TFM won this)

Ya, I put in a token bid ($328) too but would have been completely shocked if I won.  It is the first copy that I think most of us have ever seen - anyone ever seen another copy?  So, it would have been a tough item to judge price on.

Holy crap, talk about weird.........
I was reading Different Worlds last night, and I read the interview of Ken St. Andre. He said he sold 40 copies at the con, and brought 60 back. I even told my wife about it (I got the usual blank look).
I would have guessed around $1,500.
