Thank you very much!!

This is a good point, am I going to open it? Humm I am very curious but I am a collector too... It is like when you get a rarity in SW... You always hesitate to open it or to keep it sealed. I think I will decide in front of the envelope :)

I PM you my mailing adress!

I do not know if this qualifies, and is not a slam against the seller, but I believe NKG has a TrollCon special edition of the Monsters and Treasures book (for C&C) or the PHB softcover for like $95. It is still available from the Trolls for $19.95. Or, was, as of a few days ago... Do not have a link, though.

Oh, and these are obviously special prints, and limited -- first, they're softcovers. And second, they have color plates inside, so some interior art is full-page color, kind of like the 2nd edition stuff of the mid 90s.

Well, haven't seen one put up for sale in awhile and the ludicrous price being asked by necromancer for that other copy (and those on amazon) may have spurred on the bidding.

It is in good to very good condition with some moderate signs of wear. The cover has been scotch taped to the rest of the book.

** expired/removed eBay auction **

At least they described the description and posted a photo.

Good condition? :?

Castles and Crusades madness on Amazon . . .

The Castles and Crusades Castle Keeper Screen is OOP.  But is it really worth 10K?

. . . http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/1931275637

Not to be outdone, I have increased the price of my Hackmaster The Temple of Existential Evil to 20K:

. . . http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/1594590044/

Dark Chateau seems a bargain at $99.99!

. . . http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/1931275696/

Or the C&C version of The Mysterious Tower for $40!

. . . http://www.amazon.com/Castles-Crusades- ... 0977641805

I like it that the used copies of dark chateau are more expensive than the new one

Yes, but the $10K seller is actually undercutting TSCBooks' price of $11,441.72 .  It must be a bargain!

Ah, TSCBooks.  I once saw where someone questioned them about a number of not-yet-released books that they had listed on Amazon for several thousand dollars.  TSC's response was to state that their automatic listing software automatically jacks the price up to an unreasonable amount if it thinks the ISBN may be corrupted so as to prevent anyone from buying the book -- rather than, you know, just not listing the thing. (Which also ignores that ISBN's have a check-sum digit, and it's therefore highly unlikely to get a mangled ISBN that still registers as a valid one.)

I've long since come to the conclusion that they just have a DB of ISBNs and list everything in it at outrageous prices.  If somebody actually buys it, then they can track it down and buy it elsewhere (probably at a substantial profit), or refund the money and respond that it was a listing error and they don't actually have it.

(And yes, some people do buy books listed at ridiculous even if the price is above Amazon's own listed one.)

Given how much of a pain it is to find a copy, that may not be too far off.

I enjoy checking my Amazon inventory and seeing that my price of 20K is still the lowest price.   :D

If another seller would put one up for cheaper, then we could have a price war.  Maybe even get down to a realistic price, whatever that is.

Around $60.

It's easily the hardest Hackmaster item to find.

It is also complete crap. Little Keep on the Borderland is excellent, then WotC made them spoof everything up. Thank God the hacked greyhawk supplement never saw print, though there must be a manuscript mouldering around.

Quality and value do not always (often?) go hand in hand - we know that.

I was just happy to get a copy recently on the cheap.

I have only been buying HackMaster books for the last year or so hence my perspective on the pricing/availability is somewhat limited; however, the ToExE almost never shows up on Ebay.  I remember a few copies in 2008, but my collection creep had not progressed sufficiently for me to pull the trigger. ;)  The only copy I have seen this past year was available on Noble Knight's site in June for $75.  I think it was listed for three or four weeks, and then it was gone.

$60 seems like a fair price; however if you have the cash and don't want to wait, the one on Amazon for $20K is an absolute steal. :)

I can only assume that the $750 starting bid on this lot of SPI wargames is utterly ridiculous:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

But what I find even more ridiculous is the seller not wanting to break them up and his Ebay feedback.  Not as bad as some of the people on the shady sellers list but still...  8O   Too bad...there are some nice games in there.
