I believe that this was the reserve on the auction, it was automatically bid up to the reserve not as a bid above the next highest bidder..

Brette:)

Yes Brette, you are right.

What a reserve price, it is totally crazy to think that a seller put that reserve and more insane to see that someone has reached it.

I cant believe anyone posted a snipe bid that high in any case.
Reserve or not.

However, is it worth that much?
I do not recall ever seen an English language version of that item, much less a French language version.

No, it is not worth that much.

The quality isn't good, I have read them :P and it's very poor. It is far behind the average quality of standard US comics (even if I am not a specialist).

There are several different comics.

That's odd, but frankly, you won't have any pleasure to collect them.

With some patience you can find them on ebay.fr for a view bucks but on ebay.com, it is more unusual, that is right and absolutely logical.

I am totally agree with you John, I can't believe that someone put a snipe bid that high. That is very strange.

For anyone interested in seeing a bubble in action: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 0245956222

It used to be that the Who's Who supplements were the most expensive DC Heroes items, with these coming in third behind the core rules -- you could probably expect between $10 and $20 each, depending on the buyers and condition.

The Watchmen trade-paperback collection was through the roof a while ago ( You know, the one you can walk down to the bookstore and buy? Yeah, I dunno either. :? ) and has since dropped in price, but the effect of the trailer seems to have spread to other items.  I'm curious how long the prices will last.

I just sold my average condition original set of Watchman comics for a jaw dropping price....silly bubbles!  The DC modules that used to pop up all over the place seemed to have dried up recently.....

The Avalon Runequest Players' and GameMaster's boxes, $38 and $40 respectively.  Quite high, considering that I've seen shrink-wrapped copies go for less.

Of course, one of them already has a bidder, so it just shows that one never can tell.

MY NEW POLICY

For items which are priced waaay high, is to politely ask if they would be interested in a waaay lower offer.

for example, for this MERP Hands of the Healer...

** expired/removed eBay auction **

I asked "Hi there, would you accept an offer a little less than your buy-it-now price? I was thinking of about £10. Or maybe £15 at most. thanks!"

I put a bid or two in... but I had no idea it would get this high.

8O Wow, that was one heck of a collection of MIB minis!  I've never seen a lot in such nice shape before.  It comes down to about $40.00 a box, which might be a little high for some of the boxes but not for a lot of them.  They are awfully hard to find in SW and so many in one lot!

That definitely was the way to pick these up.  What a rarity to see so many together!

I wish I would have known about it.  I would have liked to upgrade some of my box sets :(
