$199?!?! DO I get Tolkien's bones with the book?

Lol, yeah that's a lot of dough, I realize...maybe just his pinky toe bone!
Truth is, these books are highly collectible - I routinely sell MERP supplements to collectors for $150-200, especially to European buyers. I know from past experience that if I wait, it will sell at asking price or near to it within a few weeks. Also, eBay market value is set based on other items of similar condition and these are the only ones of their kind for sale on eBay right now. I just listed them last night and there's already been considerable interest in them. There is a "Best Offer" feature - all serious offers are considered.
I've got a ton of MERP Supplements that I'll be listing in the next several days - are you interested in any thing specific?
Looking forward,
-=AA

I offered him $7.

There used to be a valuation site on MERP and I used to follow that data. While the values have perhaps appreciated 50%, most of the modules are still pretty common.  I can understand trying to get $200 for Umbar, Ardor, or the Grey Mountains, but the regular modules are usually available for $20 - $30 bucks. Denizens of the Dark Wood is one of the more common modules.

However if you sell them to unwitting Europeans for those prices, why not  :)  It probably seems cheap given the value of the Euro!

I would not pay $20 for any of the mods unless they were MINT. They're just not that rare.

Except that the seller sent me a nice reply, stating that he would keep my offer in mind in case he did not get a sale...and asking me if I knew more about pricing on these items.

Which makes me a jerk for teasing him.  :x

Here's a bargain:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Seller states that the counters are not part of the lot because he is using them with other games and he also decided to get rid of the "useless original boxes".  So for $140 you get a bunch of deckplans but no boxes or counters......whoop-dee-frickin-doo.  :?

OK, so the actual auction price isn't that bad (though the items are beat to hell), but the seller's international shipping rates... 8O

$59.99 to ship two books to Canada? Erm... Yeah...

8O Yes I agree that is ludicrous. Another sold just a couple of weeks ago for $40

Not exactly the same there. The previous one has a cover price of $5.95 and this one (like mine) have a $7 price. I don't know which one is the rarest one, I never paid attention of these different cover prices before.

Hmm. I gather that is the Second Print of the First Edition. I guess it must be much rarer than the first.

Heroic worlds lists two prints for the first edition and I know the second edition has two prints.  Some completists must have been hunting that for a while/ Perhaps it is not so silly after all.

I don't think I would call either prints extremely rare.  They both pop up on Ebay with regularity and normally sell for $50 or less.
