Did you mean to type in $180 or is that supposed to be $18?

The seller emailed me back to say that the price on Amazon is $199.00

I sincerely wished the seller good luck.  I also let her know that Amazon is a place where sellers let their products sit, hoping for new buyers who don't know where else to look.

Good for her if she gets $180!  8)

I got my response too.... she must be wondering what the hell is going on.

It real is that rare. Amazon.com is selling it for $199 and so are other book sites so I hoped someone would consider this a good deal.

Amazon has misled more casual sellers than probably any other source available. Their prices for anything other than a book published in the last three years have no intersection with reality.

She probably checked ABE books too..another unintentionally hilarious source of OOP items that has no bearing on reality.

Bookselling newbies...gotta love em.

These are new, yet to be released and will retail at £9. They can be pre-ordered now and the eBay listing advertises as much. I'm not fussed at all if somebody wants to pay £26 for the set, in fact those dice are now officially worth at least £26 because that's the price somebody is willing to pay and that's at least how much the seller will receive - tangible value not to be argued with. It's just you can get them much cheaper - if anyone is interested. May be a different story in the future though as this set will be limited, although nobody knows how limited right now as it's Q-Workshop's, "Sweet little secret".

I talked to them and they advised pre-ordering now. Don't know if that's sales patter but I've put my order in for 1 of each set just in case. I plan to sit in a semi-dark room and just watch the glow-in-the-darks. See if anything happens...

Not a silly price, but I thunk people might like the description of the World Atlas.

Shill. The guy is brand new, and bidding stupidly on 3 MERP items by the same seller.

So how effective are cross-promotions?

Heh.  Reminds me of a seller I bought from a while back who used to put some of her items with multiple copies up in both BIN and auction formats.  I'd always be amazed at people who'd bid up an item to a price that was significantly over what the same seller was asking for another copy in their store.

With all due respect to Tunnels & Trolls  -- what's going on with this auction?

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Three of these six books are still available from Flying Buffalo.  That leaves Dungeon of the Bear 1, Grimtooth's Traps 1 and Deathtrap Equalizer Dungeon.  How much are they worth separately?  I'd have thought about $10 each. 8O
