The Ironhoof went for quite a bit more than I anticipated. I had it up for sale on Ebay a couple of years ago and no takers. I'm just cleaning out the closet in my Den (I'm on Box 5 of 30) makes me wonder what I have in the 100 magazine boxes taking over the extra bedroom! (The Den closet was for the stuff that wouldn't sell on ebay back in 2002, the guest bedroom holds most of the stuff I was collecting).

With an offer like that, I am tempted to buy it and resell it but I think it is probably better if someone who really needs one buys it.  Its not even $20.

I hope you do as well on the rest of it as you did on Ironhoof Highlands!   Except, if I'm bidding.

Ok, I could not resist this offer.

I just went to your website and created an account and purchased Ironhoof!

However, there seems to be a problem. I paid through PayPal but its still showing up in my cart as unpurchased.

Thanks!

A fair price is all I require. I'm always a little uncomfortable when an item sells for a great deal more than I expected. Years ago I sold a copy of Pharoah to someone here who was just starting this website and it went for a very great deal more than I had thought it would. I enjoyed getting the money for it but my personal style of collecting is very low budget and higher dollar items make me nervous (like the time back in '83 when a customer at my local comic shop bought an Amazing Fantasy #15 in absolutely perfect condition, took it out of the plastic holder and sliced of an edge of the front cover when he put it back in (dang sharp edged plastic) it was a gruesome spectacle and back then it was about $900 wasted, now of course it would be like burning down your house without insurance.

Thanks! I think I closed the window without going back to your site, and then when I opened a new one it didn't register the purchase. Everything looks good now.

I found my copy at a used book store, $5. Except I suffered the penalty of clerks who didn't know it was collectible- they put a price sticker on the cover which melted the ink underneath. Apparently the adhesive wasn't even dry when I scraped it off. The book had endured in NM condition for nearly 20 years before suffering this annoying mutilation. I guess it was worth the effective $195 discount.

I have learned just to leave the price tag on.

If the price tag is itself historical, it's a good thing. For instance, my F-series D&D basic blue book has a $5.00 tag, indicating it was sold individually. Some resources indicate this edition was sold only as part of the boxed set.

It's the ubiquitous modern Half-Price Books tags I loathe. To make things worse, someone at the Central Austin store has recently been taking a fat black marker to the cover prices of old books. Not the burning of the Alexandria Library, but darn annoying.

Mention and discussion on the Acaeum does drive up prices.

Actually ... I had the search in place on eBay since about April 2006 looking for a copy to come up.  When I checked the feedback of the bidiot that sniped me at the last moment ... I wasn't suprised.  Seems to have deep pockets considering some of his recent purchases and most likely a completionist when it comes to early material.

My copy has staple rust.  I'll take offers...

I'm sure you probably have a few people's attention and in liklihood it is probably gone by now.
