They are way overpriced.  Don't normally see them go for more than $50 even in better condition than those.  Not sure what to think about the ships though:

These usually go for quite a bit but I don't recall them hitting $100 even in shrink.

This mini is lead, so the price per ounce is more reasonable:

What's sad is that I used to own a Heritage Beholder just like it.  Bought it new from Gator Games in San Mateo on an unopened card along with an Otyugh (iirc).  This was only 7-8 years ago, but they were still selling real lead.  I took the Beholder out of the package and thought, man, that is just too ugly to put on display.  Traded it away a couple of months later, I forget for what or with whom.  Certainly never thought it'd be worth $50 to someone!
Oops.

Well, I appreciate the Dungeon Dweller figs more now that I'm older.  In my salad days I thought they were chunky and messy.  I still have the Otyugh though.

Gator Games! I go there during every single trip I take to the Bay Area. Great store.

And speaking of beholders, here's a weird coincidence: I once just randomly picked up a booster pack for the Dragon Dice game on a Gator Games visit and ended up with the beholder die — the rarest-of-the-rare, holy grail die for the entire game. It later brought something like $55 as one of my very first eBay sales. :)

San Mateo's a long way to go from Nevada!

But yes, Gator Games rocks.  Like all the best game stores, they used to hold on to inventory for a decade or so, no sweat.  Even in 2001 you could rely on finding Runequest 3 stuff or a Julie Guthrie Grenadier Dragon, still in shrink, hiding in some corner. :)  Happy times.  Now I have to go to eBay or San Luis Obispo to find lead.

Speaking of which, it looks like Jamwin's finally sold off his last mini and is now concentrating on Elvis: eBay listings

Will she ever sell that Unspeakable Oath for $500

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pagan-Call-of-Cth ... dZViewItem

...but of course now someone else has seen it and put theirs up for $149.99  -   they specifically identify her (wildly overpriced) item in their description (about nine paragraphs down) as a reason for pricing.

I keep trying to speak the Unspeakable Oath but I just can't bring myself to say it.

And about the only one left in the Bay Area with actively-worthwhile OOP stuff in stock, unfortunately :( :(

A rare french item, -but overpriced-, Le Tarot d'ambre on ebay.com.

Link

Beautiful of course, but at that price...!  Even in France it don't reach that amount!

8O

It will be better on the RPG categories.

It came originally with a box and a small booklet (well, in french) and it was made by the french editor who sold amber RPG.

It's nice looking.  Zelazny fans should love it.  Someone will probably pay for it.

I don't have a problem with resellers nor with marking up per se, but I would have preferred that an out of print copy of Call of Cthulhu rules with the signatures of the authors would have been sold to a fan or collector who appreciated it for a value in excess of the purely instrumental. Instead it has gone to a reseller who clearly preys off the ignorance of new buyers (NB: this particular triple-price mark-up arguably counts as 'ridiculous' rather than merely 'higher'). I hope that he fails to sell it at this price and that it eventually does go to someone who loves the game - at a fair price. I like to see the games end up with fans. Fingers crossed   :D
