A hint never to have those sold for a pittance on the wrong day at GenCon thanks to clueless auction staff, whoever that was... Four bids at £65+.

Misty Isles still to go.

Yeah, we only catch a few hundred items that clueless sellers put in as 'junk/whatever', routing them over to Collectibles.

Now if the Collectibles are actually marked Collectible on the tag, in prereg, that helps...
and everything so marked does go to the evening (Collectibles) stage.

Very sorry that we missed 1 item out of the 12,000 we get. We'll try to do better.

I think they were sold during the collectible auction. I bought several lots of fanzines at that time and no one bid on the O&Ws with the starting bid being $300, so Malcolm bought them for the starting bid and I didn't want to run them up.

Well, they did have stacks of Europas, Albions, etc., as well, so it's not as though the seller only walked in off the street with the O&Ws. Besides, the GenCon auction spreadsheet has "These are incredibly rare" so someone must've known.

Anyhow; that was a good wakeup call to anyone casually recommending selling via that route unless certain the interest/$$$ is going to be in the room. Domesdays looks pretty much like "junk/whatever", too, y'know.

I remember seeing them in the spreadsheet - I thought at the time that whoever sold them got utterly shafted. I know its not the auctioneers place to make decisions about such things but they definitely should have been put up individually.

You can never have too much of something you didn't need in the first place.

I like Traveller but these booklets generally go for about $5 each when you sell them as a lot.

There are some unbelievable scams on ebay currently. The War of the Ring boxed set (Ares I think) has been reprinted and is going for $60 at MinaitureMarket with free shipping on orders $100 but there is a sudden rash of them at $90 on ebay (and higher) because the old price was well over $100. The new mini boardgames Shadow over Brimstone (two sets) are now available retail for $70 a pop at MM and I see the $150+ prices dropped to $100 (not including shipping). There is a long line of items like this especially to do with kickstarter items that have started their retail release. Tis the season to watch out for ebay overpricing.
