The gulf between the stock photo and the actual photos couldn't be much wider...

There are three photos total in the listing.  I think he is referring to the first/show photo compared to the other two.   8)

I'm cheap too, it's the only way to get everything without taking out a second mortgage!  :-)

Seriously, you've seen them go for $60 or less???  I missed those.

Yep.

Price dropped since I posted.  Had been an opening bid of $75.

Yep, otherwise I wouldn't have mine.  They aren't worth more than that to me.  The version2 I have wasn't ebay.  Don't remember the version1.

Even if this was new in shrink, I don't see most Heritage collectors paying more than $100, maybe $150 for Crypt of the Sorcerer. Maybe NKG used to sell bridges in Brooklyn before switching to games?

The final sales price with 10 bids was $50.    8O
The fold over Cover is about as bad as it could get with stains and water damage so bad as to make me think it should just be tossed out.
The module is stained as well and looks to have some mildew at the top, and the insert sheet has a large stain at the top as well.
WOW!

FWIW: I bought a Minty SWed copy of this RoleAids Module for exactly $50 and was told back then that I spent too much.
Later on I Sold it to another member, but if this one is worth the final amount of $50 it makes me wonder what a Minty SWed copy is worth?
Starting to think I sold my copy FAR too cheaply....

Sometimes I just don't understand the mindset of some sellers. Case in point: this seller couldn't sell his RP Great Red Dragon the first time around (I was the highest bidder in an auction that didn't meet the reserve), so he turns around and lists it for $400? I guess he thinks the paint job (pedestrian at best) somehow adds value to the product. Seriously? Also, I hate it when people miss obvious details. The plaque and paperwork clearly state "5000" copies and the seller lists it as "3000" - probably a simple mistake, but it just bugs me. Good luck with that!

I doubt 5000 of these were made, Ral Partha had a habit of limiting there big models for marketing purposes and then just producing a modest amount for inventory.  $400 for this is a stretch, the painting is not great.  You can pick these up in the box for $100 or less if your patient.  They did produce a version of this dragon in pewter and it was limited to 300 copies, it came prebuilt and was sold at Gencon many years ago.  Finding the pewter version in box is nigh impossible  :|

A rather ambitious starting bid, even if it is NIS:

Ambitious is a kind word for it.

WTF? You can buy this off Amazon for $26.50. You can buy this on eBay for $25.99 with free shipping. Boggled.

Might be high, but the winning bidder did get four of them at once.  They seem to be going up in value too.

Only in the US, for now, due to perceived rarity?
Fwiw, copies of Imagine and Tortured Souls both went through a bit of an upwards blip at various times in the past (for US-available sales) but have fallen back since.

I just noticed that the auction hasn't ended so they could go higher yet.

That's off by an order of magnitude.
