Even considering NKG's normal multiples of reality, this is pretty out there:  Lair of Medusa
This would be what in an open auction, maybe $75-150?  No?

Maybe $200 tops. But it's been a while. It sure as hell isn't going anywhere at $600.
What I never fail to understand about these people is this: Anyone who would pay $600 for the thng KNOWS what it is, and KNOWS what it is worth, so why go fishing? What a waste of time. The idea of being a merchant is to move goods, not have them sit there.

I have two of these (in shrink no less), Mine must be worth thousands    (I would take $200 for my extra though :) )

***Update, a rather quick PM and my extra copy is sold :), well we know its worth at least $200 now***

Subtract the premium for shrink, and my estimate becomes pretty decent.   :D

At $200, that is probably the most expensive copy I have seen sell.  I would have said $50-$100 with the top end being in shrink.  They are rare because they are Canadian produced but I have had 4 or 5 extras pass through my hands so they are out there.

Definitely not easy to find... but that seems hopeful:

The first version was a cylinder shape.  I've seen (I think) only white ones.  The second version (the one in the auction) comes in white, red, and black.  I don't see any way to know if any are rarer, as people could order whichever they liked.

The one I've never seen is the Dragontooth (like the first version, but smaller, goes up to only d20).  That I could imagine being rarer, as I figure most people would have bought the full version.

IIRC, both versions that TheHistorian mentions were advertised in Dragon.  I remember seeing them in an issue back in high school and wanting one.  Never got one... and still don't have one.  I'd love to either version but the price of this one is a bit high.

Yeah, the Dragon ads were the only reason anyone heard about them.

In the past, I've seen these go more in the $20-60 range.  Remember, of course, that I'm cheap...   :D

The gulf between the stock photo and the actual photos couldn't be much wider...

There are three photos total in the listing.  I think he is referring to the first/show photo compared to the other two.   8)

I'm cheap too, it's the only way to get everything without taking out a second mortgage!  :-)

Seriously, you've seen them go for $60 or less???  I missed those.

Yep.

Price dropped since I posted.  Had been an opening bid of $75.

Yep, otherwise I wouldn't have mine.  They aren't worth more than that to me.  The version2 I have wasn't ebay.  Don't remember the version1.

Even if this was new in shrink, I don't see most Heritage collectors paying more than $100, maybe $150 for Crypt of the Sorcerer. Maybe NKG used to sell bridges in Brooklyn before switching to games?
