I'll sell my shrinkwrapped copy for an even $300.  Bargain!

Any takers?

Get your hands on a plethora of 3E books for a mere $50.25 per book. What a bargain!

Make sure and read the description.  Another Ebay seller using Amazon prices. When will the madness end?

I thought about listing this one in the Interesting Items thread due to the UK Tunnels & Trolls items but then I noticed the BIN (batshit insane but whatever) and the shipping cost.

Hardback books are heavy....I get it.  But I've had stuff that weighed more sent to me in big ass bulky boxes and still didnt pay close to that amount.  :?

Wouldn't surprise me if the auction ended at the opening bid. He set himself up for a big disappointment.

I just won a sealed copy for about 1/3 of that... so silly indeed.

When I bought RQ Deluxe back in the '80s, a clerk had mixed up its $40 price with the $20 Basic edition of similar appearance. As the bookstore manager rang up the sale, he shot a piercing glare to the clerk (who always hated me afterwards).

Therefore I suggest that a curse of some sort afflicts sales of this title, possibly by disgruntled Found-Child cultists or even the taint of Chaos. Price guides should be annotated accordingly.

And I almost called that one. It only failed to hit the BIN by $977.17.

Someone must be feeling pretty bad right now.

I wrote the seller and told him I was planning on bidding a good bit, but then I noticed his Shipping amount was FOUR times actual costs.
I told him that changed my bid back to $20...
Said he had to make money somehow.

Idiots are abundant.

Well, that's a surprise.
Is it just timing? Or is the price about to rise on these?

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

The split corner is almost a standard printing variation.

These were shipped from Trolll Lord Games with very careless packing that allowed them to slide back and forth during shipping.  The heavy contents spit the corners.  Some arrived with two corners split.

A bit of newspaper, wrapped about the box, might have prevented the splitting.  So would some wadded up paper in the shipping container, keeping the box from sliding inside it.

Alas...many many of these have split corners.

(The good news is that the split corners were due to the boxes being stuffed with content.)

Hence the shrinkwrap added to some copies later?
No split corners on those received from NKG, but then these had large ziplocs and extra-secure packaging instead. Just as well, it sounds.

Agreed, even if $300 is another matter entirely...

Or blame the tawny cat?

I thought the price was OTT already, regardless of context (and content). D'you have any more to test the market, Ian?

I only have my personal copy left. No stock of that one at all. Had it not been for a glitch lasy year, I'd have still been sitting on my little stash of those, but I'm happy enough with just the one. Even that copy may go eventually if the prices go silly. That reminds me, I have something here for you. PM me.
