So when did these become so rare ? Or at least expensive.

There has been one trying to sell for $80-$90 a couple of times, I haven't seen any end over $100 in a while

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Unknown Gods is a VERY common Judges Guild Book.

Can be had in the Shrink Wrap any day of the year for around $10 or less in Store BINs all over the world and this seller wants $100...

No pictures or scans either.

Seller has a lot of other items for sale at insane prices, some would make even Amazon Sellers look cheap.

And does not even offer a picture of them either.

Prey of Darkness, for $70...

Seller has Questions turned off too, which may be a good thing for them since I was going to let them know that the same item can be purchased from other E-Bay stores at $10 BINs IN THE SW no less...

What an idiot.

50k feedbacks too...  8O

That's Powell's Bookstore.  It is the biggest bookstore I've ever seen:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powells_bookstore

Anyone who loves books should go there once, just to be amazed.  (And Portland is a really nice city too)  Shopping there can be a day long delight.

But their online ordering sucks - it's aimed toward general book consumers, not collectors.

I stood at the RPG shelves at Powells just a week ago today.

They have trouble pricing RPG items.  I think they pick up prices from Amazon.

The guy who runs that part of the store was right behind me when I pointed out some pricing problems to a friend.  The store guy definitely heard me...which was fun...but it's entirely possible he does not price anything himself.

Powells was one of the first bookstores to have an online presence, which is why they are still in business.  That, and their legendary, landmark approach to running a store....

The RPG section at Powells has grown by about 100% over the past two years.  Some of the stuff they have on the shelf is doomed to remain there, veryily, unto the end of the earth due to unrealistic prices.

They probably move enough stuff to get the impression they know what they're doing.  The place is always crowded, even on a weekday morning.

Some of those Group One stuff has gone through the roof, my bids didn't even show..

I would expect this is the difference between a playing copy and a collecting copy;)

And my poor 51€ bid had been blown away... :( I didn't except it will go for so much. But very nice win Mark!

As for the group one module, the one I purchased is in very nice shape (minus the holes) and perhaps in better condition than the one without holes. So I am not sure that holes on an excellent copy is worse than the other one. Nothing about the condition in the auction, it was very risky to bid more than $20 on it. Perhaps the module is in poor condition. Or not :)

And the other group one modules sold for way less than that from the same seller.

For what some of those expansions sell for, that may actually be an ok deal.

UO1 just doesn't seem to get the $ that some other issues bring.  I know 2 and 3 are harder to find, but I don't think I paid a whole lot more than that for my copy of 1... and it's a first printing.

TUO != UO (#1 of which is also up elsewhere just now ;))
I still haven't seen that many under $50-75 and $100 wasn't that unusual, before. You did well to get that for less, IMHO...

Kynan also has too many blocked bidders, perhaps?
