Strangely enough, IIRC, it's about castles.
Mark's just narked off.

$35-40 seriously isn't a huge price for the bagged TG1.

Damn, it sounds right up my alley. If anyone has one for trade, gimme a holler. I'll be posting a stupid amount of stuff next month and I'd much rather trade than sell.

Yeah, was half-interested, myself; which is why I also had a "half-interested" bid in there.

Hey, Mark, think yourself lucky... You should have a second-chance to buy, once Ian's finished .pdfing the TG1.
Even better, since it's loose-leaf there's no spine for him to burst in the process; so if he says it's NM, it might actually be NM... :P

Signed by Kerry Lloyd no less.

I see the Castles book ocassionally at the used bookstores, I'll look for some copies if guys here are interested. It's a fun book, I've got a copy, it shows the construction of a castle from start to finish, nice illustrations and does explain a lot about the construction of castles.  It reads like it's written for kids but it's not that distracting.

I loved David Macualay's books as a kid.  He did a whole series: Castle, Cathedral, Pyramid, Underground, Roman Town, and maybe a few others.  I seem to recall that castle and catheral were also made into animated movies.

Atleast some of the books are still in print.  Amazon has Castle new for $10 and used starting at $1.15.

The Gamelords publications that have fallen into my clutches all mention a sequel to Prince of Thieves, 81 that takes place in the future...presumably with rules for sci fi thieving.

Does anyone know if this publication actually got printed?

It is not listed in Heroic Worlds.

I think Mark's looking for a possible Special Edition #2, Shane. I haven't seen one.

I'm not familiar with a TG Special #2 either; #1 was the tourney used at Gen Con East I or II (I forget which, offhand).

Yes, I am asking about Thieves Guild Special #2.  This is described by Gamelords as being a science fiction thieving adventure.  It is not listed in Heroic Worlds and I suspect that it never got off the ground.  (Sci-Fi and Fantasy mixes were 10 years too early in 1982.  The genre did not pick up steam until the early 90's.)

Is someone familiar with this publication?  Ever seen it?  Did it reach tournament manuscript form, but never finished product?

Actually Kerry Lloyd died of a heart attack sometime early 1980s.
Could be the reason no Special #2 or various other titles that never seen print.

Anyone notice lately that Thieves Guild has virtually disappeared from Ebay?

There are still an item or two in Badmike's store, and there is another guy's attempt at robbery for one early lot, but the flurry of Thieves Guild sales has ended.

The Thieves Guild item I still seek is (ironically) a second edition box.

And now they shall start poping up again :)

Still wish they'd release all of these again, but we've had that discussion before.

I think Mark means the Gamelords edition.  The first print of Thieves Guild I was loose leaf sheets.  The second print was a boxed set.

Is there any difference between the two editions besides the looseleaf and a box?  Thanks.
