Yep, and he was not the only one here bidding on that lot.

But after winning the SAs I had to stop well short of what I was planning on bidding.

Congrats though; that was a nice lot of TG items there.

BTW Was there not FOUR TG books in the lot?
TG 1, 2, 5, and 8?

OH! Never mind.
Guess the First one is part of the Box Set right?

Mention of the Thieves Guild 2nd Edition Boxed Set on the Acaeum has been known to bump up the price on Ebay by about triple.

I sought this holy grail for some time...always expecting to get the #3 copy on Ebay at the lowest quality grade.

Then, with a flier bid of (like) $10-$20 I get shrinkwrapped copies of both the 2nd Edition Box and the boxed version of Haven.

At the time I was narked because the shrinkwrap kept me from examining the contents....

Given that you got other Thieves Guild publications in the box, I think you did OK.

I perhaps became duped as to the value of these items. I only acquired an interest this year perhaps 3 or 4 months ago. During that time I could not find a set on Ebay. The shop items on Ebay for Thieves Guild have pretty high prices. The only one I was aware of was this:

I know Amazon is usually ridiculous, but given the paucity of items coming up, I thought any set coming up was likely to go for $50 +

I must learn the art of patience in my collecting!

I think $20-$40 is a reasonable price for these sets and maybe $50-$60 for one still in shrink. They were on the cheaper side of these prices for a long time then interest grew while it was promoted here - partially due to Mark looking for a copy.

The Haven boxed set is fairly easy to find for $20 new - i.e. diffworlds still has these in shrink for $20.

Those guys on Amazon and their goofy prices!

Still...in among the dross there are occasional steals on Amazon, particularly in music.

I think of Thieves Guild as the best of the non-TSR materials from the early era, with the proviso that Judges Guild printed too broad a body of work to think of as only one series of modules.

Tadashi's company www.diffworlds.com where you can still buy most of the Gamelords items for relatively good prices too.

It arrived today and is complete. It has the catalog, discount card and Gamelords order form. It even has the original store receipt showing it was originally bought at 'The Game Chest' in Tuscon, Arizona by Todd Greer.

Oh. and as extras, it had Thieves' Guild 2,5 and 8

They were the second print booklets. Perfect condition except for price stickers. Don't think I can remove them.
