I don't have my copy of HW at hand (it's about 1800 miles away), and I wanted some info about the Group One Traveller books Nithus and Lomodo IV a.

I will be selling both, each in their original ziplocks, seemingly complete with poster inserts, in EX+ condition.  I'm not very Traveller-savvy, so any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

From HW:

Nithus: Campaign setting that describes Nithus, a planet inhabited by the peaceful, furry, telepathic Captutains. 16 pages, 1 large color map, 1981

Lomodo IVa: Campaign setting describing a world that is home to such creatures as the osp, angiosh, rudstot, efut, and culwap. 16 pages, large color map, 1980

Hope this helps.

Thanks guys.  I tried to search on eBay for prevoius prices, but none showed up:  does anyone have anecdotal values for these they can share?

And has anyone heard an explanation for why eBay can't search title and description on completed listings???

They put out 15 SciFi/Traveller items and only one fantasy.
I'm curious who wrote the two you have and if the copyright dates match those listed in HW.

Hi Shane---

Well, on the (c) front, you're in luck:  Nithus is (c) 1981, as is Lomodo.  However, neither lists an author.  There's a thank you to Dorothy Bledsaw in Lomodo, and both covers and interior art are signed "Johnson 1981", but that's about it.

Anyone have ideas about their relative value/worth?

No idea, but I would assume they would be worth a bit more than some of the other Group One items.  There are several currently on Ebay that seem to pop up every month or so.  I have not seen these two since I started collecting Traveller.  Here are a few Group One items currently available if anyone is interested in them or the auction outcome:

Traveller Wabor Parn OOP Group One | eBay

One Direction Group Poster | eBay

Travel Books | eBay

The Encounter DVD | eBay

Working in Groups: Nonfiction | eBay

I run into this all the time. You can search that way but you have to search Title & Description on Active before you can search Completed. Search the way you want completeds with actives and then check Completed and it should work.

I stand corrected. This does not work. Not sure if this is a recent change or not. Sorry to have mislead anyone

I watched this auction for a couple of days and decided it really wasnt something I wanted to bother with.  I had no idea that the final amount was that high.  Just a bit on the ridiculous side if you ask me.  I would have expected half that.  Most auctions with pdohoney as a bidder are usually going to go for a higher than normal amount.

Here is one of the Group One items that I dont think I have ever seen on Ebay since I started collecting Traveller.

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Damn that Group One artwork is weird!  And not that it comes as any surprise to me...pdohoney was the high bidder.

Never thought the price would go that high for Group One stuff.

I was expecting $20-30, too.
Unfinished business from the previous (not quite so crazy, but almost so, Hydronaut auction)? If you check the 3rd bid is only $12 and only a few seconds left for a "hidden" snipe.
Had noted a few copies previously on eBay at $15-35, anyhow.

The same seller had Pen-Latol's World (possibly slightly scarcer?) which finished at $13.
