I heard a rumor that Erol Otus will be doing the cover for DCC #50, too.

Select DCCs are being reprinted in German. Don't know the print runs, but at least 2 of them are Roslof and Holloway covers.

Confirmed.

And Monte Cook is the author.  From the ad it looks to be a very interesting adventure.  :D

Interesting. Its a "pop-up." Heh. Reminds me of Labyrinth of Madness with the "rings." Might have to get that one, just because I like modules that let me physically play with them. Would be odd, since that'd be the first I actually bought.

That Otus art just keeps getting weirder and weirder.  :twisted:

Well, hell, as long as bumping seems to be today's theme ...  :roll:  :roll:  :roll:

... *BUMP*

I count 10 total covers for Erol. All are viewable here:

[edit: bad link ... see next page]

Man, I think I need to order that #50 ... classic Otus art and some sort of weird pop-up map. How can that possibly be topped.  :)

Does anyone have #50 yet? Any reviews?

Whoops, missed one for Erol ... he's actually painted 11 DCC covers. Woot!

Here's the updated figures for other classic TSR artists (covers only, with DCC #'s in parentheses):

Jeff Dee: 4 (19, 24, 36, 44)
Jim Roslof: 3 (28, 29, 43)
Jim Holloway: 3 (1, 2, 49)

+++++

Some notes for the uber-DCC collectors: I'm not giving Erol credit for #3.5, as it's the same painting ... Holloway was not the original artist for the first two releases; those are second printings ... Holloway has at least one back-cover credit, and possibly more.

I haven't played through the adventure yet but the "spinny map" is pretty cool. The rings of the dungeon are held on by a little brad/rivet. At Gen Con I overheard that all the brads were glued on by hand.

It makes for a neat dungeon.

That's looking like a bad link I posted above ... here's a working link to Erol's 11 DCC covers:

http://gallery.mac.com/dukestermail#100034

BTW, those covers can be downloaded; also, any interested parties can subscribe to the site via RSS and be updated to any changes I make to it. A project of mine for this year is to get a lot of Erol's art categorized in similar fashion.

+++++

(For anyone interested in the tech part of it: that's iPhoto's Web Gallery feature you're looking at)

Jim Holloway had the front cover for the third printing of DCC#1 (Rat King), the front cover for the second printing of DCC#2 (Tsazthar Rho), the front cover of the first printing of DCC#49 (Palace in the Wastes), and the back cover of DCC#21 (Assault on Strombringer Castle).  That's it for now, hopefully there will be more!

Umm ... wait a second here. Does this look like Erol's art?

Do I need to put down the crack pipe ... or is that just not Erol? EO did the cover for the original release, so I'm wondering if they just copied-and-pasted some erroneous information here.

I believe the artist for that module is Jason Edwards - looks like his work anyway. Erol Otus did the cover of the regular release. New artwork for new release, I guess.
