That is a very nice service to the artists. Near as I can tell the artists themselves get paid for the originals and ship them direct. I only hope the artists receive a large portion of the proceeds to boot!

I just got my copy of DCC #35 the other day; I do agree--the maps are great, the modules (#35A & #35B) are pretty good, the gazeteer has got just enough info to start the wheels turning for more adventures, . . . and yes, I did pay retail (US$69.95 + 7% sales tax).

And it's worth every penny.

** my usual periodic bump **

So, by my count, Dee got the cover for DCC #36, but not a single old-school artist has been called on since. And Goodman has DCCs up to #42 listed on their site. That's a trend I don't like ...

BTW, the writer for DCC #41 is listed as "Smaugdragon." Does anyone know what that is about? Inside joke? Place-holder text?

Jim Holloway told me that he had one coming up. When that will be who knows? The covers are okay, but I would be happier with a Roslof, Dee, Holloway group.

Thanks for the bump. I did my first serious look at the Goodman Games site. I think I'll get one of the new ones, it's just that I'm concerned that I'll decide   to buy more, and I'm trying to stay OD&D, AD&D and Basic. Maybe just one module...

Well, it's not new art, but Erol and others will be featured in this electronic reprint:

DCC e-book collection

I also bring it up because it's an interesting idea. I mean, I would just send envelopes full of cash to Wizards if they would begin releasing ADD 1e modules in a professional CD or e-book format. And I know I'm not the only one, either ...

Okay, I can't take it any longer: the cover for DCC #45 is based on a piece of old-school AD&D 1e art, right?

It's driving me crazy

I'm at a loss; I can't seem to find it. And that's if I'm not imagining things in the first place. But I'd swear that that cover is an homage to an earlier piece of artwork.

Help ... me ...please ...

I don't think it's intentional, but it looks vaguely like the cover of the color T1 Village of Hommlet.  Pillars, green humanoidish thing reaching for someone.  Maybe that's not what you're thinking of, but it was the first thing that struck me.

That's a good call; it was actually my second guess.  :)

But I'm still looking for something more similar ... the poses of the characters, the background, etc. I swear it's out there somewhere.

Of course, it's entirely possible that this mystery piece of artwork is in a reality that exists solely inside my own head ...

What was your first guess?

The more I think about it, the more it's bugging me.  I think you're right, and there is a piece of art much more similar.  Maybe interior art from one of the hardcovers?

Yeah, upon re-reading, that ended up being not very clear.

My second guess: T1, green cover;

My first guess: Whichever piece of art it is that we're trying to find. If only I knew what it was ...  :)

Oh, I see what you meant.  You've convinced me it's out there, and my gut thinking is that it has a medusa in it (perhaps with legs, though) and also that it's an interior black-and-white illustration.  I could be totally off, but I want some credit should we locate it and I'm correct about that much :).
