I wonder what they mean by this: "The hobby grew slowly, arguably peaking in the 1990s, but it is still going strong." Why the 1990s? Did sales really peak then, or did something else?

Well, at least they did put "arguably" in there to cover their bases.

Yeah, I don't get that either. I did know a lot of people that played Vampire: The Masquerade in the 90's and I guess that counts as an RPG. But when MTG started picking up steam and Pokemon came out it was totally like "what's D&D?" from what I saw.
