Holy cow, this has got to be a new record for the 11-series.  8O

I think so... the 11-series keeps increasing in value probably because it is the best sculpts and most complete line of any official D&D/AD&D miniatures lines.  And since the shift to plastic there probably won't be another official line of D&D minis in metal reflecting 1st/2nd Edition rules/monsters/archetypes.

Gah, to think how many of those I had sitting in my cellar once. And sold for a measly $100 or less.  :-)

The start of updates to http://www.centerstagerpgs.com (the unofficial AD&D Ral Partha Archive) have been uploaded to the website, including pictures of almost all the Player Characters 11-Series figures and the Council of Wyrms line.

I should have the Planescape page and the Monsters page up by Friday, and I'm expecting more painted minis in soon.

The values listed are works in progress; I am still waiting for more estimates from fellow collectors, so if you have something to add, please PM me and let me know. Thanks to Blackmoor for his timely response and adding his estimated values thus far.

Comments welcome and also appreciated!

Wow....at that price, I'd sell both of mine.

Any takers?

So, is there any reason that Iron Wind Metals isn't reprinting these figures too, or are they and they're just not reissuing the remorhaz (or, is it called something other than the remorhaz now)?

Hey Allan....actually, I asked the same question when I was webmaster over at IWM.

According to Mike Noe, their prez....(I am trying to recall his exact words, but don't take what I am saying "verbatim")....when Partha lost the AD&D license, they also lost the legal right to continue casting even the existing figures that they had.

For some reason also, it was impossible for them to even re-release them under a different name (like "Dark Elf" instead of "Drow") due to licensing restrictions.

Belive me, it was one of the FIRST questions I asked when I joined their team.

:)

One of the things I heard bantered about in my few trips down there - and I don't know if they ever acted on it or discussed it seriously - was contacting WoTC to see if they wanted to purchase the sculpts Partha still had to re-release them as part of their new plastic figure line.

Anyway, that's mostly what I know about it. I was going to call Chuck Crain and ask him about it, but ironically enough, the week I called to ask Mike for his phone number was four days after Mr. Crain passed away.

:(

Well that's a bummer.  Perhaps the rights to the molds could be re-purchased, then?

Or, re-license them, or sell them to IWM outright!  Sounds like a good idea to me :D :D

Horrible timing :( :(  I've had similar conversations with Paul Stormberg about Tom Moldvay's passing (and a similar experience with Gary's---just a few days before he died, I thought I should finalize some details about some stories/essays he wanted, and about reprinting one in my collection of dungeon-building essays---but I figured it could wait for LGGC :( ).

It looks like the high bidder bought two Lamia's from the seller at that price (if I'm reading that correct)

Thanks bro, I never saw an assembled one, just in blister form. They really butchered that sculpt IMO.

Yeah, the Blue Dragon is rough. I'm not a big fan of the Brass, Bronze or Green Dragon either. The Copper dragon is my personal fave...and go figure, I STILL can't seem to find one for a decent price.

AARGH!

The Dragon series is the weakest part of the Ral Partha 11 series.  They're just too small.  The RP Dragon box sets are much better with truly fearsome and large Dragon miniatures.  The Dragons 11 series is the only RP AD&D line that I don't have a complete set of, and I'm not really interested in collecting the rest of the line at the current prices.  I have enough Dragons already from the RP and Grenadier box sets.

I agree, when my Red Dragon pose is standing on it's hind legs and is just slightly taller than my Ettin, Madrid, Frost Giant, etc... something went wrong in terms of scale.

Speaking of crazy prices for 11-series miniatures...

** expired/removed eBay auction **

That's nuts. I have these in blister in large numbers, so if anybody wants one, I'll happily provide you with one for the winning bid on this auction. Hell, free US shipping, too.
