I picked up a copy of Quill & Scroll magazine issue 2 by Phoenix Games. It has a very interesting article with an interview about TSR's status and plans. I'd like to find a copy of issue 1 but I can't find much information about the publication.

Google-fu turns up the magazine of the same title at Boston U. Noble Knight is the only place that I can find a reference and they have only 2 issues listed. Of course they have been out of stock for 6 years.

Can anyone share some information and I'd appreciate a PM if you know of a source to get a copy?  :D

Worth noting that Brett is unlikely to be selling them.

Any interesting details in the article, Craig?

Not specifically but the interviewer does ask some very pointed questions. Such as -

Response to the sentiment that TSR had outgrown its management;
How they feel about the ex-employee company Pacesetter;
Who they feel their biggest competitor is;
How the employee situation is with a rash of firings;
The D&D / satanic scare;

The responses were from Deiter Sturm.

If there is interest, and only if it permissible, I could share some excerpts.

I'm interested in the interview. Especially TSRs view of Pacesetter.

I draw the line at collecting... D&D Towels.

Did we need: Jade Magi Sewer Crawl

Shoulda been: ".. from Pangreenia to Floratopolis, from mystical Treeonia of spectral Forests to Schruborial dimensions."  - The Forests of Leng

Thanks Craig for posting that excerpt.
I would think that has to be the same Matt Forbeck that did the LOTR RPG.

Thanks Craig!

And IIRC, Matt later worked for TSR, too ;)

Everyone is certainly welcome. :)

I'd still love to find the first issue if anyone has a lead and any information on additional issues besides #1 and #2.

Correction:  Matt advised that he never worked for TSR---he was offered a job twice, but only freelanced for them.

And Matt advised there were only 2 issues.
