you are correct, they copied the 2nd printing (cherry blossom) version from 1976. Take it for what its worth, couple of people over on the RPG forum specifically did the mail order back in 1977 and got the Cherry blossom version. So, outlaw copied that version. My version is from 1977 as well.

Here are the two version so you can see the difference. The Outlaw version spiral is much different than the 1977 version as well as some other variation. Although they do both exhibit pink.

yeah there was a seller who had several lots of el conquistador all of which included this issue

I've since seen several for sale on the bay and rpgauction on facebook for lots of $$$

The Ebay seller had a number of lots with this issue and before they were noticed, the lots were selling in the $30-$40 range. Some large markups from some of the resellers.
