Before purchase i d like to understand if these books are worth or not...

I was not deeply impressed with them, Axel.  Unless you can get them on the cheap or with a nice discounted Lulu coupon, I don't think that they're very noteworthy.

Allan.

aia, I think you have a bad link.  It's being blocked as malicious, at least for me.

Not your fault; it was a bunch of "crap" that eBay sticks on the end of the URL for various tracking purposes.  The URL ended up being like ten lines long, and included several characters that our firewall didn't care for.

Generally, you can get pretty simple with an eBay URL.  Anything after the "?" is fluff.  Here's what I cleaned your link up to (with the hyphens around "eBay" added here so as not to trigger my code):

This popped up today, then disappeared:

Palace Of The Vampire Queen

Then it was back, at a higher price:

Palace Of The Vampire Queen   | eBay?

It appears to be a really nice copy.  Looks like one from Doug's collection?  Should be on some Acaeum member's list...

This could be a htf item. Goodman Games only released this Dungeon Crawl Classics module through brick-and-mortar retailers. I have no idea how many are out there, but if you enjoy the line and collect DCC like me, I recommend picking this one up:

I draw the line at collecting... D&D beach towels.

Shoulda been: ".. from Pangreenia to Floratopolis, from mystical Treeonia of spectral Forests to Schruborial dimensions." - The Forests of Leng

Does look incredibly nice.

What concerns me about this item are the lack of any specifics about the actual item in the description (apart from a generic PoVQ description) and the "brand" being listed as "North Texas RPG Con".

Has anyone asked the seller any questions about condition, provenance, etc.?

Let mirth prevail!

Yes, that could be a red flag for scam.  Need to ask for clarification as they are showing the folder version, and not the digest version.  Not sure if they are confused about what they actually have based on what comes up when they search for the item.

I did. I'm the one who "won" it for $400. I had some concerns about it myself due to the lack of description, as well as the ""North Texas RPG Con" that's listed in the original post, although admittedly I brought it up after I BIN'ed it.

He claimed when he finally got back to me that his wife had listed incorrectly, so he cancelled the sale. I can't be sure if it he was telling the truth or if perhaps my querying after the fact caused him to look further.  In his favor though, he has at least a couple other auctions with some legit early items, so I have no reason to think he lied other than I kind of got porked, but that's why it got reposted.

One thing though I'd like to deal with is this, as a result:  I know that there was a digest sized PotVQ that was sold at the NTRPGcon back in 2011? I have yet to be able to find much information about it, let alone a decent picture of it.  Aaron has one for sale, but his scan is worthless. It's blurry as hell and it looks just like the original.  Does anyone have a couple of decent pictures, as well as a decent list of differences between the two?  That's what initially cause my worry when I started asking. I knew that there was "reprint" from ~2011 out there, I just had no idea what it looked like other than it was digest sized., of which a far away picture and/or a scan would not let me know the difference.

It was reprinted and sold in 2009.

I've got it.  Not a lot to see.  It's got a semi-glossy cover, with less distinct red for the lettering and graphics.

The front inner page clearly states:

Reprinted By: North Texas RPG Con
With Permission from: Pete Kerestan

It's not a folder, but a digest-sized booklet, saddle stitched, double stapled.
